Ingredients: 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. Assorted food coloring gels. Edible glitter or sprinkles.
Instructions: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Divide the dough into smaller portions and tint each portion with different food coloring gels to create a variety of cloud colors. Shape each portion into a flattened cloud shape and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill the shaped dough in the refrigerator for about 20-30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350F 175C. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Once the cookies are completely cool, decorate them with edible glitter or sprinkles to resemble clouds and raindrops. Allow the decorations to set before serving or packaging.
