Oh we get it you were listening to Thursday on the train, yes you are so cool and interesting can we kiss now
Found another one of them goddamn Peter Pan collar dresses today and my grandma shouted it for me! Cannot wait to style and twirl to this song in it
Last album I listened to! Great underrated band at the intersection between melancholic post punk and Sarah style jangle (makes sense cause they were both a Factory and a Sarah band)
Lay down and watch the sunset as you listen to it
This came up on shuffle a couple days ago and somehow I never processed that these lyrics were about a lesbian couple until I heard it again then <3 love unexpectedly seeing rep for me in classic indiepop
This love is as good as any other, says one woman to another
This love is not wrong
Enjoy a sweet little seasonal playlist!
Hello everyone, haven’t posted about music in a while, but now I’m back + also I finally have a new song out in the world that I’m really proud of :))
This is The Hotel Song and it’s a new single which is going to be on an EP called Thing Is Me in the near future. This EP is gonna be a rather huge departure from Made With Blingee my last project, because I’ve just changed so much.
I never really expected myself to stay the same person within a year going on two after it’s release of course, but I also never expected this drastic of a change within myself and honestly... I’m totally okay with it. Infact with this new music I feel like I’ve definitely come back more happier and more mature than ever before, and also with a more diverse range of interest and a newfound love for experimentation.
Anyway... onto the song itself. The Hotel Song is about a girl who once used to sheepishly bully me. She was benign when no one was paying attention to me, but as soon as all eyes were on me in a negative light for whatever reason she’d pounce back on her high horse and laugh along with any insults. What pissed me off the most about her, wasn’t just what she was saying about me, which frankly wasn’t that horrible In retrospect compared to other things people have said to me. It was more the fact that she just seemed to find joy in joining in on any campaign to make me feel horrible even though we literally never knew each-other properly prior to any of these events.
At some point in late 2018 I started having dreams about receiving apologies from her. One in particular that stuck with me was a dream about going to a hotel with a friends and then I saw her in the reception. My friends invited her to the spa and it made me really nervous, but I still went along with it anyway. However once we were actually there together alone at some point we were surprisingly having a lot of fun and once we dried off I received the apology I always wanted but knew I could never have due to her nature. This song is bittersweet at its finest because I wanted it to sound fun, summery and free yet a little bleak at the same time.
In terms of musical inspiration for this track, I had a lot of Neutral Milk Hotel, Pavement and Elliott Smith in mind while making this but you’ll be surprised in later tracks from this upcoming release about what other strange inspiration I’d be pulling from later. For example, the next track I’m recording at the moment is very trip hop but has some distorted loud guitars in there too.
Anyway... that’s everything I’ve needed to say music wise at the moment! Please spread around The Hotel Song on here as much as you can. I’m trying to get it to 1000 Spotify streams at the moment, so if you like the sound of the song, or if you haven’t heard it but like the idea of it. Please give it a listen as show it to as many people as you can who you think would appreciate it too! Thank you.

Who/what is ur main style inspo?
hey hiii hellooooo !!!
I love this question thank u sm for sending it :3
My style and what/who inspires it has fluctuated a lot over the last few years, but only now do I feel like all the things that have previously inspired me from influential years are merging into one thing that feels like it's just me.
The particular "aesthetics"/subcultures/styles I mainly pull from are twee (mainly inspired by the way the artists who made twee pop music dressed in the late 80s/early 90s! Not so much the 2010s version of it although Zooey Deschanel has some cute outfits), 90s emo/"midwest emo" (this is mainly what I look like when I want to wear a cool outfit but I feel too overwhelmed sensory wise to wear my more fem leaning outfits! Essentially it's just me doing the hair, putting on my little fake red-framed nerd glasses, wearing any t-shirt, long sleeve, and scarf ever with my bootcut jeans, and then I feel slay) and general kitsch! I like colour and I like warmth!
Someone on Pinterest/Flickr who I see a lot and absolutely adore the style of is this alternative model called Zoetica Ebb who definitely has that whimsical kitsch vibe but with a gothic twist sometimes. I see her old pics from the 2000s a lot and just love everything about them.
Other people/things who I get a lot in my Pinterest boards rn are Sherri Dupree-Bemis from the band Eisley, Z-Berg, the other members of The Like, all the girls from Skins but mainly Cassie, Emily, Naomi, and Pandora, Hayley Williams, a lot of nameless scene queens, Helena Bonham-Carter, Blythe dolls, the members of Dolly Mixture, Clementine from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Amelia Fletcher, Alison Harvard, Cory Kennedy, a bunch of other nameless mori kei/emo/twee/hipster girls from flickr..., a few 60s fashion icons because I had a 60s dolly girl/mod phase... yeah a melting pot of vibes!!!
I also am heavily influenced by what I listen to and right now this album feels deeply like me.
