jmeadow The first Edison's Children album In The Last Waking Moments ranges from radio-friendly AOR to more experimental, extended proggy tracks and even some post-rock moments. Both musically and lyrically the album is emotionally charged - songs of regret, reflection and trepidation. The album is infused with a gentle melancholy. As you would expect, the musicianship is high quality - these guys know how to construct a rock song, but the album never feels forced or contrived. The stand-out track for me is the radio hit A Million Miles Away ("the sky was so brilliant blue/And I was lost in the sunshine of you"), with the title track and The Awakening being other highlights. Highly recommended. 4/5 | 2015-3-28
