I joined a couple of Facebook groups, made a few posts saying I had availability, and added a contact page here. So... I'm reaching out to my fellow fan-fic writers. Back in September, I started a three-course program for my Certificate in Editing through the University of Washington. The final course is a practicum, and here's where I need some help. My task is to find a writer who would be willing to allow me to edit a piece of their work, no cost to them whatsoever. The piece would need to be 500-3000 words, either a short story, poem, essay, or chapter of a full story. I have to do one full editorial round, which consists of the following:

Make edits

Have author review those edits

Incorporate author's responses and changes

The author's responsibilities are as follows:

Review my editorial plan early in the course (which starts on March 30)

Respond to at least one round of editing roughly midway thru the course

Provide a brief written assessment of my editing, communication skills, and project management by the ninth lesson of the course

If you know ANYBODY who'd be open to this, or if you think you would be a good fit for this, please contact me thru PM. I *really* want to edit some fan-fic (especially some H50 fan-fic...for science), so I'm going to tag a few people to help me signal boost this. Thanks in advance, guys!

Ready?

I think I might be ready to start collection footage and editing some stuff together. Obviously i’m going to research further as I go along however for now I think i’m ready to start rounding up my footage and trying to get a good balance of different seasons to appeal to different audiences and the fans of different styles of drag queens.

So I’ve been watching different Drag Race trailers to try to combine Drag race adverts/trailers and Comedy Central adverts/trailers. Every drag race trailer features a Ru Paul song to promote his music as that’s Ru’s main feature. So as I said previously I’m definitely going to use a Ru song however It’s best to choose that after i’ve started to edit the rest of the video together so as I can find the right sound that fits.

I’ve been researching different TV adverts for shows premiering on their channel especially for Comedy Central as that is the channel I want to create my advert/trailer on. One main feature of comedy central is that they often use text cuts like the one’s above similarly found in other TV Channel adverts. And it’s definitely something I’m interested in using within my own project.

Ideas so far

The order of all of this i’m not sure about yet however I needed to jot this down while it was fresh on my mind. I haven’t done nearly enough research yet but I’ve been thinking about it religiously. Haha.
