Life is unfair. Life is full of questions that is not so easy to answer. Isang promising na pagsasama na kasal, which ended up in separation, Unfair. A family member in drugs, a daughter prematurely pregnant, life is unfair. A father losing a job, a young mother with cancer, life is unfair. A religious family suffering to great debts, nagkautang-utang, life is unfair. Innocent people being killed and being hostaged, life is unfair.
We wondered why these things happen to good people. Maybe because it is God’s way of telling us, or God knowing that we are capable to handle it
Life may not have all the answers, but faith has.
There are a lot of things that are beyond our reach, uncontrollable realities that we cannot do otherwise, needs that we cannot respond, out of the circumstances that, no matter how we wish to help, we cannot. Until we just find ourselves saying to the Lord, “Lord maawa ka”, “Lord tulungan mo naman ako”.
Like what the 12-year old child, Gizelle Palomar was asking the pope when he visited the Philippines, “Why does God allow children to suffer lolo kiko?”. Wala naman pong naisagot si Pope Francis, Ang nasabi lang niya, He had no rational answer but the power of tears; Naiyak lang si Lolo Kiko. Let us learn how to weep, matuto tayong umiyak, holding on to our faith, His love for us remains, just what the Gospel tells us.
Si Hesus, sa kabila ng mga nangyari, is still praying for us, is still with us, pinagtatanggol tayo, pinagdarasal tayo sa Diyos.
Sabi nga, there is reassurance from Jesus from the Gospel. “Father they are your gift to me, I wish that where I am, they also be with me”. Wow what an assuring and consoling presence or words from Jesus…
Please do stay. Please remain. Yan ung sinasabi satin ni Hesus. We are consoled that throughout it all, Jesus suffers with us. No matter how our life is being tossed by trials and by struggles, everything will turn into blessing when we anchor our faith to Jesus who have overcomed the world
My dear brothers and sisters, this is a good reminder: prayer will sustain us… and Jesus sets an example, He is praying for us, for you, He is continuously praying for you.
In these moments we are also called to pray for one another. When did you last pray for the people you love?
