Political Question: Help!
A friend said she could never respect Obama because he put his feet on the oval office desk for a photo and thus, disrespected the highest office. She continued to say that she wants to see where Trump goes in his presidency. I tried talking to her about his Muslim ban. She saw nothing wrong with it. The conversation went nowhere. Recently, I received a text from her saying she’s ready and more willing to listen from my perspective as a Muslim & immigrant in this country. (Also, as a human being?) I’ve thought of many ways of answering it. They all start with me yelling and not understanding why an office picture is worth far more than the lives of millions fleeing civil unrest. Or how one could even begin the compare the two. So I turn to you, help me educate in a way that doesn’t end the communication. Help?
