This is the first article I have found that tells the perks about Standardized test.  How it can help someone determine what they are good at for picking a college major. As well as help by showing the weakness as something to fix and work on with a student versus as a low scoring kid that is bring the school system down. This article because it is more pro Standardized test then against makes me truly think about if I am for or against it. I line that stood out to me from the passage is “Those who argue against standardized tests say that holding educators and students accountable for only mathematics and reading encourages them to neglect history and science. But this is an argument for comprehensive and systematic testing across the entire curriculum, not an argument against standardized tests themselves.” This to me is helping me see a new side of the argument. Are people more upset that the test are more math and reading? Is history and science not a big deal in the education system? These are all questions I now am thinking about and get to look through my other sources to explore the truths behind them. Another great point this article makes is how the test can demonstrate students K-12’s skills and knowledge which in the end with make them better prepared for future educational and professional goals.  Because these tests are what determines if someone gets in to college, scholarships, graduate school, and jobs. This article makes me think really hard about if I am for or against the testing.
