SYSTEM OF EDUCATION CHANGES DUE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC | Asian Journal of Advances in Research
The COVID-19 pandemic is a global catastrophe that will affect everyone on the planet. Without exception, all aspects of human life on Earth, with the exception of schooling. Many countries, including Indonesia, have agreed to close schools, colleges, and universities. When the crisis hit, governments all over the world, including Indonesia's, had to make a difficult choice: close schools to minimise people's touch and save lives, or keep schools open to keep teachers employed and preserve economic sustainability. The Covid-19 pandemic has two effects on the long-term viability of schooling. The first is the immediate effect on many Indonesian communities, both in cities and villages. In Indonesia, many less affluent families send their children to school at home. Homeschooling is a major challenge for Indonesian families, particularly for the productivity of parents who are typically working outside the home. Similarly to the psychological problems of students who are accustomed to learning face to face with their teachers in the classroom, online learning can cause students to become bored, stressed, or depressed.
