for some reason the greatest friendship on my island is between zundamon and edward carnby. carnby strutted his polygonal ass all the way across the island to go sit on the floor and listen to zundamon read a picture book to him. zundamon has asked to move in with carnby several times.

I loved this year's Alone in the Dark reboot (the next day after I finished it I found out that goddamn thrice cursed Embracer shut down the game's developer after the game failed to meet 'expectations'). Dr. Gray's exquisite flirting with not so clueless Carnby is just… oh my, priceless! XD

Also, loved Carnby's evil ending! So fitting for his character and his story. It's my canon ending.

This lineart is inspired by my thoughts about relationship between Gray and Carnby after the detective joins the cult (they are mostly NC-21 XD).

I finally finished watching a playthrough of the new Alone in The Dark game and my god did I cackle at the end of it. It was ridiculous in the best way.

And now I want to write detective Carnby smut 😮‍💨

And maybe other characters too cos there’s so many hot weirdos in this game 😏

On a more serious note, I loved the settings and the characters, and the story was interesting, but I kinda wish certain things went more in depth. The scene with Carnby and Grace was probably the most deep the story got (iykyk) and I had hoped it would be more… idk… emotionally fulfilling in a way? It had a lot of dark subjects that it never really delved into, especially in the lore aspect. Probably because it was trying to do too many things at once. However, I’m glad it didn’t fall into the trappings of a lot of horror game endings these days, especially in the psychological horror genre, so I’m grateful for the commitment to the ending it gave us lol.

At the end of the day, I really did enjoy this goofy lovecraftian noir mystery game. David Harbor was such a joy to watch, same thing for the other actors. Grace was probs my favorite character. If I ever have a kid, I hope they have even an ounce of her personality lmao.
