Psychonauts oc ref sheet: Edward Skye
As ArtFight approaches I've put working on the mini comic on hold since I have to focus finishing up making oc references, after this there is one more pn oc I'd like to introduce :)
More info on Edward below
Edward prefers his nickname "Ed" over his full name
Ed works at the art department of the company that publishes True Psychic Tales
He tends to try keeping a positive vibe in the workplace
He usually carries a bag consisting his drawing equipment along with a sketchbook around with him.
Due to past trauma some of Ed's psychic abilities have been repressed, he isn't capable of using powers like psi-blast for example but he does handle simple things such as telepathy and telekinesis.
He likes shiny rocks and crystals :)
Ed has a camera he uses to take reference photos of rooms and items
Another one of @writeworld‘s prompts, specifically this one: x. Since I have another LARP event coming up, I thought it would be good for Terry to get her own story, short as it may be. Death mention.
“I can’t believe this!”
“Eddie, please listen to me-“
“No! Do you think I will, Terry? You didn’t even tell me!”
“But-“
“And we tell each other everything!”
“You didn’t need to know yet!”
His eyes bored into her, crossing his arms across his chest. His baby sister, a beast! He wondered if she told them yet. Even though Edward was relieved to see that she was fine, he still knew she wouldn’t be able to control herself in that form.
“Have you told them?” He asked, nearly snarling.
“No! Why would I? Frederick is already worried about me as it is!” She slapped a hand over her mouth. She shouldn’t have said that.
“You left without saying goodbye?!” He gasped. Even as irresponsible as he knew he was, he didn’t leave without saying goodbye. “You know how frantic he gets! What if he thought you were dead?”
“What if I went back after being bitten? Huh?” She snapped. “I would’ve killed them! I can’t do that!”
“And yet you almost killed me now!”
“My friends protected you, didn’t they?”
“Yes, but if they hadn’t?” That got to her. Her face dropped.
“I’m trying to control it.” She hugged herself.
“You don’t sound sure of that.”
“Shut up. I’m doing my best!” She frowned.
“Well, you better get your act together, Theresa.” That name tasted strange as it left his tongue. There was a flash of betrayal in her eyes as she heard her full name.
“Don’t you dare call me that, Edward.” Her voice was shaken. “Never call me that again. You’re just as bad as Frederick.”
“If you hadn’t realized, Fredrick is back home safe and sound,” He took a step back, a hand on his sword. “Where you should be right now. Why didn’t you stay?”
“And break our promise?” She hissed. “Never. Besides, staying would’ve meant they had died, Eddie.”
“Fine. Then I should kill you then.” He drew his sword, and stepped forward. She blinked, but that was all. “Problem solved then, right?”
“Eddie…” Terry started, but she bit her lip. He took another step forward. She didn’t flinch.
“Kill the host, kill the beast. That’s what I’ve been told anyway.” He growled. He wasn’t himself, his sister realized. He was afraid. So was she. She wasn’t going to show that to him though.
“Fine. Do it.” She grabbed his wrist, raising the blade to her own throat. “Just promise me, Eddie. Promise me you’ll bury me like we buried Mum.” He hesitated. Tears were rolling down her face.
“Do you remember? How much time we spent weaving those pretty, pretty flowers in her hair.”
“Terry…”
“Pa was so happy to see her like that.”
She choked. He gently pried her hand off his wrist, and tossed the sword to the ground. He wrapped her in a warm embrace, stroking her hair.
“Shh, shhh.” He whispered. His voice caught in his throat as his fingers touched the ribbon in her hair. Of course she would keep that one, no matter how new the ribbons I gave to her were. Mum’s ribbon was special to her.
“You know, I don’t think Pa would want to see you in a coffin before he’s in one.” His voiced wavered as he said that.
“I know.”
She leaned her head on his chest, letting him rock them back and forth. The family-like bonds she formed here were strong, but she knew it couldn’t replace blood. At least, not for her. For now, she was content knowing her brother was safe from harm.
