The Cambridge four-piece folk outfit have made you a 5 track EP that will have you running to the beach in a frenzy. A sizzling selection of upbeat ukulele tunes for every mood. With lead vocalist Tom’s ska-esque tones over Olivia’s velvet-y harmonies, this EP lends itself to an almost folk version of Jack Johnson.
Opener ‘Day Well Spent’ makes even the laziest people want to get out of bed on a Sunday morning, making an average day sound like a sunbeam. Imagine Jason Mraz with a harmonica and you’ve got the sound of ‘Leave The Radio On’ in your head for days, with its catchy topline and a sad message with upbeat tones.
The intro to ‘Animals’ makes you feel like you’re in an old-school Crash Bandicoot game, but quickly makes you want to grab a beer, get into a festival crowd and accidentally spill said beer onto the adjacent person’s shoulder - similarly, ‘Evolution’ will make you chant like you’ve never chanted before. ‘Heartbreaker’ is definitely the sad song of the EP and has lyrics that will make you have a somewhat existential crisis - but you’ll still love it.
