I'm getting that urge again. The urge to make embroidered Edwardian silk stockings.

Like MAKE make them, cut and sewn from silk jersey. (None of the commercially available silk stockings are GOOD enough! 😭 Either too coarse or too blended with spandex, they're not shiny and they don't have the glossy, tightly-knit feel of the originals! You can find MEN'S silk dress socks with the same texture, but stockings, oh no! 😠 I have to do everything myself around here.)

My dad unhauled a bunch of books before Christmas and let me have my pick of them. A pic of the full stack will be coming, probably in my February wrap-up, but I just had to share this one! Don’t have a date for it, but it was awarded to a technical school student in 1910.
