And we’re back at the origin, so let me begin.
Here’s a bunch of random thoughts from reflecting on the year.
During the first half of 2015, I actually stopped taking as many photos with my DSLR, because I tried to reserve it for more professional gigs. I definitely took a lot of iPhone photos and videos and Snapchats, which I ended up compiling into a short video throughout the entire year. You can view that below if you want.
I can’t believe I just noticed this, but it’s so hard to actually convey the feeling of what this year was like. I tried writing about it, photographing it, and vlogging it but none of it was enough. Maybe it was just that fulfilling.
It’s been such a ride through the year. It was the end of my college experience. It was the beginning of post-grad. The difference really took some getting used to, but the thing that remained constant were all that kept me grounded. Loved ones, friends--thank you for all that you do. I made this and the video just to honor and celebrate you all and our memories together. I chose “Until you Were Gone” as the song to commemorate the year just because it really was a year I didn’t fully appreciate until I had the time to reflect on it near its ending. Sometimes, I’d really like to be able to remind my past self to enjoy it while he can.
I can honestly say this was one of the best years of my life. I got to explore some cool places, I got to be in love, I graduated, I had my first wedding, engagement session, and my first jobs. I got to reconnect with old friends and make new ones, and I hadn’t felt the range of emotions I felt this year in so long.
I read somewhere that 2015 would be super plot driven. There definitely was lots of character development, but it really an action packed year.
Thanks for the really colorful 2015. It’s been quite the story, and cheers to 2016.
