Okay so it was quite the journey to get this damn poster and signature but eyyyyy (excuse the glare this was taken on the con floor while the paint dried.)

So I attended Megacon Orlando this weekend and when planning my con out in like January? Maybe February? (I can’t recall.) I saw that dawn M bennet would be a guest there! I got so hyped because she voices zora! Despite not being much of a celebrity signature person my autism demanded this signature!

Problem: I didn’t own any merch with zora on it and the redwood run book isn’t out yet. (Watch out dawn the moment that book is out I WILL ask you politely to sign my book.)

Solution: buy the official poster!

So I go to the official store where the posters are sold and go to add the poster to my cart but the thing has said it’s been sold out and thinking back over the last few months it’s been saying that. I’m bummed out and go to scroll tumblr for a few when I see @jelloapocalypse is answering asks sent to him right then so I say “fuck it” and sent in one asking about if a restock of the store is planned soon since it says sold out.

Quickly I get a response to my ask stating how that shouldn’t be the case since it’s print to order so in theory they should never be sold out. Turns out the times I checked over the last year or so and saw it as sold out wasn’t because it kept selling out but because the stores been fucked up that entire time!

New problem: I can’t buy the poster legitimately. the only piracy I do is from major companies so I’m basically fucked over poster wise

I’m bummed but then I get a DM on tumblr. It’s jello! He explains the site is fucked for everyone, I ask if anything can be done and he sends me the high quality, no watermark version of the poster for me to go get it printed myself so I can get it in time for the con since the website being fucked up isn’t an easy fix.

Im hyped and honored to get the permission to get the poster printed and I start looking into where to order from to get this thing printed where it’ll just deliver to my house cause disabled and I don’t wanna run a whole errand to staples or whatever.

But before I hit order my anxiety tells me to triple check that the dawn going to megacon is indeed zoras VA. I go to check the megacon website to check that and everything about dawn attending is GONE! She’s been completely erased from the site and I can’t find a trace of her attending anywhere on the site. I think she must have had to cancel or something. I’m bummed out and decide to save the money on buying the poster to save for my con fun money fund.

5 days before the con I notice a lot more VA’s are added to the website by now, I’m scrolling through, favoriting some I’d like to meet and such and in my scrolling I notice a section listing canceled guests. What’s weird to me is dawn isn’t listed there. So on the app I look up her name and she’s there! She’s attending as an after dark guest instead of as a normal one like originally planned!

I get excited and rush to go order a printing of the poster to deliver asap. But every reasonably priced option won’t deliver until the Monday after the con! I start to panic cause I need to find a way to get a poster printed in less then a week and I start researching and such and find out Walgreens can do same day poster printing I just have to pick it up so I’m able to order it and picked it up after work.

Thankfully once I had the poster it was smooth sailing from there. I bought and carried it in a tube designed to carry posters, I was able to bring it and get it signed on Friday with maybe a 15-20 min line? And the gold paint pen I got specifically for signatures worked great and looks amazing on the poster!

If i remember to I’ll add a pic of my poster on the wall once i get a frame for it. It’s just wrapped up nice and safe right now till then since i dont want anything to happen to it.

Anyway I wanted to say a big ass thank you to jello because without his help by sending me the file for the poster and giving me permission to get it printed none of this would have been possible. I appreciate it so so much and this means so much to me. I’ve been wanting this poster forever and to not only finally have it but have it be signed by a VA of the series is amazing, dawn was so sweet and seemed excited to see an epithet poster brought in for her to sign so all around a great experience. Minus the rollercoaster that is megacons tech end. They need to hire a furry or two to make their tech end not ass.
