Let’s Split Up, Gang!

Epithet Erased Episode 1

This is adorable as all get out. Molly... just kinda... accepts being held up like this?? anyway, Giovanni’s gotta steal some treasures so he splits the party and he assigns three of his underlings to keep an eye on Molly, which seems like overkill but maybe he is worried for her wellbeing, or maybe he truly fears her, either one sounds plausible.

(Pictured above in left-to-right order: Ben, Car Crash, Flamethrower) Let me get this right, Giovanni apparently wanted to rob the museum even later than it is right now, but there was scheduling conflicts (the bane of any D&D campaign) so it was done earlier and yet he was expecting a crowd to be there either way?

(Pictured above in left-to-right order: Dark Star, Spike, Crusher) And here’s the gang that Gio’s taking with him to (presumably) steal the Arsene Amulet. Giovanni takes the time to tape Molly to a chair and tells her to be good, which makes the three man watch even more pointless, and goes off to do EVIL while the Molly Guard chat with each other.

Not gonna lie, it’s impressive that you can crash your car three times and still have it functional enough to crash for a fourth.

That’s an optimistic way of looking at this situation! Always look on the bright side of life, Molly!

Indus is here! That means that most likely Mera is here as well, and Minios is still somewhere in the museum as well...

The way Molly (and other characters) narrate their actions while it is being represented on a tile-map oozes tabletop feels, along with the way the problem is presented and dealt with (I need to quietly sneak away so I cast a spell of muffle as my first action type things) is just so cool, it feels like a tabletop game that’s been animated.

Anyway, Indus and Lady Mera are working as the only security guards here because apparently this museum is destitute and can only afford two workers (or maybe just one, Mera, and Indus just tags along) to work for all museum functions.

This reads like a dog’s internal dialogue, which isn’t that off from the rest of Indus’ behaviour.

Why do I feel like he’s been holding that in ever since his barrier stance failed to stop the kids from earlier in the day?

Epithet Erased Episode 1

This is going to be the most easily thwarted heist in the history of crime.

Wait, is this Giovanni’s Epithet or are there actually spells in this universe, either way, hurt Molly and you go to number two on my ‘Bury in a shallow grave’ list.

The image can’t describe to you how unimpressive that attack was, but I can! It was like a soap bubble popping against Molly’s bulwark defense, however it seems to have been aimed at getting the phone out of Molly’s hand instead of actually attacking Molly, so Gio lives another day.

Is Gio referring to this as the group’s first outing or did he recently gain this position and there is more to the Banzai Blasters than just this group? Hmm.

Tasted like weaksauce, my dude.

Museum Escapades with Indus, Start!

Epithet Erased Episode 1

Because Molly is only a single player character, the DM has graciously given her a NPC to direct so that she may get past this encounter! However the NPC is DM controlled, so Molly must be cautious in her orders!

Woops! Not cautious enough! Combat Encounter starting in 3, 2... Nah, Molly convinces Indus to set her free first! So he goes to get the scissors in the secretary’s desk and..

Indus. I don’t think your barrier is the best tool for the job here.

...Even assuming that your hands are regular sized and not Indus-sized™ that would be a huge donut!

He’s doing his best, guys. Even if his best is most people’s worst. All he needs is for Molly to inform him that tape can be torn by hand and he’s off to the races! No wait, he got distracted.

I mean fair, but as the only two security guards on duty, it’s kinda also your jobs to deal with them, but you do you.

HAHA! Now Molly is free to foil Giovanni’s most evilest of plans!

Tarbella? Sounds like it means something but the only thing I can think of is it sounding similar to barbell which Indus must be handling a lot to get that definition... and why does it feel like he’s used to saying these words?

Indus completely forgot that Molly told him she’s using her Epithet to mute the area so she tells him he has to scoot away and try again.

Can I just say that, so far, Indus makes the best faces.

Prophetic Epithets

Epithet Erased Episode 1 Despite technically being attacked by him, Molly goes to apologize for impolitely asking about Gio’s Epithet and like everything else he does, he does not take it gracefully.

Y’know, with Giovanni’s last name literally being his Epithet I have half a mind to start researching to find any meaning behind the other character’s names, I won’t be doing that because: a.) That’s how you get spoiled ya dingus, and b.) I’d prefer to just randomly guess from what I know and from what the show is giving me, Either way, I’m proud for noticing that before his Epithet was shown! I suppose Indus’ name also relates to his Epithet Barrier, with his barrier being industructible! I don’t know if Molly’s name follows this trend, and I don’t even know if Lady Mera has an Epithet, herself...

Speaking of which, how does Souperman know Molly has an Epithet? If I remember correctly it’s not exactly rare, but still a leap in logic to assume a person has it.

Pour some more salt in the wound, why don’t ya?

I will admit, that was smart. Congratulations Giovanni Potage, you successfully tricked a child.

Heh, nothin personnel, kid.. and he actually said ‘Teleports behind you’, out loud. This absolute dork, I’m kinda starting to like him, so long as he remains harmless or maybe even mostly harmless. (That reminds me, I need to re-watch Hitchhiker’s Guide)

GioGio’s Bizarre Adventure!

Epithet Erased Episode 1

I have to say, I’m digging the background music to this group’s antics, it’s a kinda cool jazz club instrumental, so the bandits get a point in my book for taste... even if they lack style.

Stand by, everyone. I’m currently beholding with all of my focus.

A name! Giovanni... and isn’t Potage a type of food? One google search later Yeah, it’s a catch-all term for any type of thick soup? Which includes things like chowder and stew. So, he’s Soupman.

I gotta ask, who are you monologuing to? I mean, don’t get me wrong, I like a good monologue myself but you kinda broke into an empty museum after hours to sneakily steal from it like a smart villain wou- You didn’t know it was closed up, did you?

Yup, also I just noticed...

All these bandits are unique! I just assumed they were copy/pasted but no, while they share a template the group shot above shows that their outfits all have their own details to differentiate themselves! That’s just so nice to see!

Molly politely informs Gio that after hours means after closing hours, and Gio. Just. Can’t. Stop. Posing!

Aww, c’mon, narrator! That group pose could have been 20% less lame if you didn’t add in the wheezing trumpet!

Return of the Lily Bandits!

Epithet Erased Episode 1 Whee! I’m back, did’ya miss me? I missed you! Last session Molly took a snooze and the museum closed up around her, potentially leading us back to the start of the episode!

Oooh, it’s a montage of the museum closing, and yeah, I really think Indus and Lady Mera are the only workers there...

Wait! Freeze the footage! Rewind it back! Enhance!

Minios shows up way after the museum closed and an hour after Indus and Mera left! He looks around the lobby a bit before going through the top left passageway where half an hour later Molly enters through! Curious, curious...

Oh! and those bandit guys! To be honest if I didn’t reread my past posts I would have forgot about them.

NO DON’T DO IT! THAT PLANT HAS SO MUCH TO LIVE FOR!

He got a badge that says “Pure Evil” from a Hot Topic clearance rack to prove it!

Ye-ouch, should have put on your steel toed boots before doing that.
