Snowstorm (COME, EREBUS, ARE YOU COLD? DONT WORRY, CAIN'S BODY TEMPERATURE IS SO HIGH.)
Snowstorm: The heat’s gone out, and our muses have made a nest with every blanket in the house. Contact is good for keeping warm, right? So are kisses, apparently.
Caught in a snowstorm, how cliche. Or so Eo would have thought if she had ever been in one before. The violently swirling white snow outside of the window was so thick, she couldn’t see beyond it more than a few feet and she suddenly felt nervous, trapped. This was a coldness she had never prepared herself for, where she was from never got this cold, and what she read about Earth winters didn’t make it seem nearly as bad. But it soon hit her that Earth and Mars were two very different places and the howling winds and rattling metal unnerved her to no end.
How did people survive in this? Was all she could think of in silence as she stared at the broken heating mechanism that she hoped would turn on with the sheer force of her will. It wasn’t until Cain stepped back inside the room, opening the door that let in the horrid chill that Eo buried herself farther into the multitude of blankets that cocooned her. He was the one who wanted to show her Mars, seemingly pissed off that she had never seen snow before, and dragged her off during leave to this wasteland of a planet. This was his fault.
Eo was angry, although she had no intention for it to be directed at him (at first), but she couldn’t very well take her frustrations out on the planet for wanting to freeze every limb on her body and despite the mass of fabrics that she clung to, she was still shivering. She was going to die here, and no amount of her fighter’s complaining at her “overreacting” was going to convince her otherwise.
Cain was saying something as he approached her, but she had too many blankets (plus her hair), wrapped around her body to hear anything but muffled noises and the terrifying rattling of the structure around them. It wasn’t until he was pulling away at the outer layer that she whipped around in a panic.
“It’ll be warmer with two bodies,” he said nonchalantly as he continued to wiggle himself through the shield she had, “and like hell I’m freezing to death because of you.”
The closer he got, the more she hated that she agreed with him – his large body (larger than hers at least) radiating the heat she desperately wanted was significantly better than whatever the thin cloth was providing and she reluctantly nodded.
Eo remained rigid, not wanting to seem like his closeness was something her body was screaming for as he settled himself comfortably next to her. She refused to look at him and kept her eyes on the machine that she hoped would burst into life at any moment so that this would end, but another howling gust of wind shook the room and she jumped at the rattling sounds closer into his chest, only to immediately snapped back in horror as she shifted just far enough away that they weren’t touching, scowling into the ground. It wasn’t until she started to shiver again that Cain’s annoyance reached it’s peak.
“You keep acting like I’m going to do something to you,” he hissed before grabbing hold of her waist through the folds, “you’re not making this easy.”In a swift action she didn’t have the strength to resist, he pulled her small body close to his, dragging one of her legs across his lap. She had half a mind to punch him, but the fact was that Cain felt… nice and despite the small whimper she gave out, she didn’t resist. A few minutes went by when she finally relaxed, letting her shoulders slump, and she forgot the strong hand at her waist was still there. Small shivers still happened like clockwork against the side of his body and she prepared herself for the condescending comments about not being able to handle Mars that never came. Instead she got…
“I know a really good way to keep you warm,” Cain’s voice broke the silence and her dark eyes blinked up quizzically to meet his as she tried to read the expression on his face. This seemed like a trap, but her small defenses were lowered and he had been rather… helpful despite his roughness and the first thought that came to her mind was that he had some secret Mars way to making heat out of… something.
Without waiting for a response, the hand that was free of her waist grabbed her chin and pulled her unsuspecting face to meet his and rough lips pressed against hers. It took her a moment to realize what was happening and as soon as her brain caught on, small hands readied themselves for attack only to be quickly caught at her side.
“No slapping this time.”A sneer, a growl, Eo couldn’t tell what his expression was, too focused on putting distance between them, but his strong body was forcing her hands back, pressing her into the floor. She felt weak and small, the few blankets around her softening the blow of her back against cement, but the gasp of surprise opened her up for more as his kisses deepened. He finally broke away satisfied with his work as she breathed heavy against his grip.
“Th-th-this isn’t going to keep us warm,” she embarrassedly and angrily stuttered out, the first words she spoke to him since they were trapped in this hellhole. She still tried to avoid his gaze that she knew he had on her, glad the darkness of the room was hiding the expression on her face.
“HAhaha, then you haven’t been doing it right,” he laughed, but it was closer this time, against her neck, breathing at her collarbones.
Eo’s face contorted with shame as she tried to force out her next words, only to regret them as they fell into the silence. He didn’t need to know this, was she consenting to this? Would he leave if she said no? It was so damn cold...“I haven’t… done… that…” Heat was rising into her face causing her to sweat just slightly, realizing what placement the word “that” held for her, and she suddenly felt extremely bare and stupid. This place was terrible, Mars was terrible, the cold was awful, she wanted to go home.
“You’re fucking with me.”She wasn’t going to repeat herself and she quickly tried to struggle against the grip he had at her wrists, ignoring the surprised laughter that filled the room.“Shit, are you serious?” Another whimpering huff escaped her lips as she gave up trying to fight against him, trying to calm her panicked breathing, but the hold Cain had on her loosened ever so slightly as his lips met her neck with a sensual slowness. Her legs pressing against him, unsure if they were trying to pull him closer or push him away, and a husky breath filled the room,
“I guess I’ll be showing you something real nice tonight.”
