Ahhhhh this makes me so so so happy and excited!!!!!! Tove and Maya and Sam being greeted by Atos and his wife at his house!!!! So amazing seeing them interacting in the flesh (well, you know, it’s technically fictional, but... you know what I mean). This scene touches on Tove’s want to be seen as a “proper” visual artist first over a cartoonist.

Atos: Welcome! 

Maj-Lis: God help us, the visual artists are coming.

Atos: God is dead, so try to survive. Welcome!

Tove: Good evening. Tove Jansson.

Maj-Lis: Are you related to the sculptor Jansson?

Tove: His daughter. A shadow alongside his genius. [Shadowed by his genius?]

Atos: Tove is a great cartoonist.

Tove: Visual artist, if you please.

Atos: Sorry. Visual artist. That picture of Hitler and the cake, it was bold.

Tove: Thank you.

Atos: My wife Maj-Lis.

Maya: Maya London. Evening.

Atos: Atos Wirtanen.

Sam: Sam Vanni.
