The first person off seems like very stern-faced youth, all sharp angles and hard lines that soften when he sees the blonde.
apparently I can still write when exhausted
I tried a thing?
You see him occasionally walking across campus. He’s an art student there, and you nearly always see him wearing a similar thing; a black or grey tee shirt clinging to his long torso, golden curls slipping out from under his grey beanie and curling in the middle of his forehead, but the most important was the scarf.
A bright-but-deep blue thing, like the sky just before it gets pitch black at night, they never see him without it, rain or shine. Crossing campus barely clothed in the heat and lugging about bags of supplies and bags that protected his art from the elements, he seemed to realize that it was too hot to wear a shirt, but the scarf was still there, tucked like a flag through his belt loops. When summer turns to autumn, the leaves slowly falling to earth in shades of gold, orange, and brown, the young man is seen with the scarf hanging loosed over the neck of his paint splattered sweater, and when the biting cold of winter comes, the scarf coils itself around his neck and mouth like a python, but it’s never actually gone.
Only those closest to him know what the scarf actually is, so those who see him on campus probably assume that he simply has no other scarves to wear. Or something else, like it’s maybe the only one that he likes to wear. It fits him, yes, and his general look, but it is obvious that the scarf is not his. You think it’s a bit ridiculous that he continues to wear it day in and day out, but you probably wouldn’t notice him without the scarf.
The next time you see him, he’s running, scarf trailing behind him like a blue sail. He seems excited, something unusual. Until you see the Airporter pulling to a stop where it usually does.
The first person off seems like very stern-faced youth, all sharp angles and hard lines that soften when he sees the blonde. The shorter of the pair doesn’t get long before the blonde is pulling him close, fingers curling in his brunette hair.
Your roommate gets her bag from the driver and comes your way. You forgot the students who had gone to Italy were returning this week, and as you address your longtime friend, you miss the blonde wrapping the scarf around the brunette’s neck.

your bartimaeus feelings, they're perfecttttt and i can't believe it's such a small fandom ): ): ):
It used to be even smaller, but a bunch of fans just came out of the woodwork and made the tag actually active, which makes me so happy. But these books are just so underappreciated and it breaks my heart because there's not a more deserving YA series out there. I love them so much, and you just start to appreciate them MORE the older you get because they hold up so well.
