Rest in peace Effinex
The young stallion was just 7 years old and died very suddenly in his stall of a pulmonary aneurysm.
Effinex was a tough, sound warrior on the track - running 28 times across 3 seasons of racing. His greatest achievement was a win in the G1 Clark Handicap, though he’s best known for finishing 2nd to American Pharoah in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Classic.
He will be missed.

Effinex dies from ruptured pulmonary artery
2016 Breeders’ Cup Classic contender Effinex passed away suddenly from a ruptured pulmonary artery. The stallion had just entered stud. Reports are some 100 mares were bred to Effinex so hopefully we will see some of his foals in the next few years. RIP Effinex. May your pastures be forever green.
