Another day of waking up to a stranger; what seemed like a stranger. Had they? Course they hadn’t.. she was still clothed, her pj’s had hung snugly against her frame. But why hadn’t she remembered anything? Other than what she knew of yesterday morning. Why was her neck hurting? The thick scent of blood hung about the air as she moved her hand up towards her neck, her fingertips brushing against the wounded sore flesh. Gasping she pulled her hand away, staring at the blood, stained on her fingers as she lifts it towards her lips. Pausing as she stared with deep brown hues, her own brows furrowed. Why was it that she couldn’t remember? What had he done to her? Although in her mind she had called him stranger, there was still something there. Some short term memory of his face that she simply couldn’t ignore. Tilting her head as she stared over his face, she slowly shifts onto her feet picking her whole weight up as she stands. Watching him as she approached her bedroom mirror, the bloodied wound catching her gaze as she slowly pulls her hair to one side. Elena was at least trying to make sense of it all. Had she been reckless because her parents were dead? Because she wasn’t over the fact that they weren’t around anymore? That she couldn’t have been strong for Jeremy and so she had binged and drank till the thought and senses had disappeared. No, that wasn’t Elena. Staring down at the dresser table she had noticed the orange bottle of pills open and half spilled across the table top. Was that it? Had she simply forgotten?
A quiet sigh slipped her lips; she had made no attempt to run, why had she stayed so calm? Her mind was filled with questions and yet she was afraid to even wake him. Speechless, she walked out of her bedroom and into the bathroom where she took care of her wound. There was a strange feeling about her, the reality of it all that she technically woke up with a stranger, and although she was positive nothing had happened other than the bite wound on her neck. There was something else, something she couldn’t quite put her finger on. Placing a band aid, she stuck it firmly against her skin. Covering over with her hair yet it was more than just visible. The thought of what creature could have done this and yet he was the only one that seemed to be in contact with her unless something had happened. It wasn’t a mark from some kind of sexual act. It was bruised, bloody, marked with.. fangs. Blinking her long eyelashes as she stared into the mirror, she slowly shook her head. She must have been dreaming, nothing she had in mind made any sense to her. Leaning down towards the basin she splashed cold water against her face, caressing her palms over her skin before pulling back. Lips parted as she stared at herself again before moving away and drying off her face. Licking her lips firmly she folds the towel and places it to hang as she walked back out of the bathroom with her toothbrush in her mouth.
One thing in mind that caught her was her bookcase, staring for a second she moved quickly towards it. Her hands brushing each spine of the books it held, until she found the one. Elena’s diary. If nothing was going to make sense, maybe this would? Her deepest darkest secrets, maybe it had some answers? Pulling the toothbrush from her mouth she began to brush it against her teeth before setting back towards the bathroom, holding the diary at hand. Spitting into the basin, she rinsed down before setting her toothbrush back and sitting herself on the toilet seat. Staring at her diary she opened it, pulling back the pages to a few days before. ‘Damon Salvatore’ it read, the words in large followed by Stay away from him, underlined. Her lips parted as her breathing grew heavy as she stared at the underlined words. Was she really dreaming? Was this actually real? She couldn’t help but continue to read on. Certain aspects of her life, certain things that had happened, she wasn’t quite sure about. Biting into her bottom lip tightly she brushed the tip of her finger against her words as she continued to read the words that she had another black out and had woken with no memory once again. More words about her meeting a gentle and caring man, older than her and yet she had thought he was perfect. Surely this wasn’t the man she had told herself to stay away from? There was little she knew about this man, yet she knew she couldn’t trust her own words. Simply because she had no memory of any of this..
Ears twitching ever so slightly, as her heart began to race, a sound catching her ears as she turned her head towards the bathroom door. Staring out into what seemed like it was midday, had actually been early morning. It was still somewhat dark yet the sun was leaking in through the windows. Slowly she stood, making silent footsteps towards the hallway and back into her own room. Was he awake? Had he realised she wasn’t there? More questions, the pain began to ache now, her hand clamped against her forehead as she sighed leaning against her doorframe. What exactly was happening to her? Had she felt weak, she wasn’t herself and there was nothing she could remember. Why was she so damn calm? Pulling her hand away she stared at the clock, the time ticking away and once it turned eight it was as though nothing had happened. Blinking, her eyes relaxed as a calm feeling came over her body. Slowly approaching her bed she sat down on the edge simply staring into the mirror. Her hand reaching her neck once more as she sighed, it was as though everything she had thought before had vanished, she couldn’t remember, not anymore @broknfeed
