Ah, another crowd to greet her so quickly? Goodness, there were just too many people! Where were they all coming from, she wondered? "Hello!" Estelle greeted with joyful eyes shining, turning around to face everyone. A light bow was given, a smile appearing on her face after she rose. "How are you all doing today?"
A month's time gave him back stability, but it didn't stop the pain from coming back without a moment's notice. Hisca had been with him the entire time - watching over him the best she possibly could. The stitches had just been recently removed from his side, so his torso was rather sore currently.
Rest was in order, as per his usual regiment that Hisca had assigned him. He had taken quite a beating, and even he admitted if it hadn't been for the redhead he doubted he would have survived Zagi's assault.
It was about mid-day now, and he barely managed to do a lap around Dahngrest before he found himself growing tired, and returning to the Inn.
A Nap.
That was what he needed.
As soon as his head hit the pillow he was out, so his ears didn't hear the sound of the door pushing open.
It was only normal for the Summon Spirit to get curious upon receiving a letter from an anonymous person asking for him to come to Lake Sinoa cave. After all curiosity brought temptation...
Red eyes scanned the area of the cave as footsteps descended deeper and deeper into the dark areas that only had little light provided. A calm expression on his face did not hide how cautious the Summon Spirit was. After all... Who would send him a letter anonymously to come down here? A hand rested on the hilt of his sword as he entered the altar where the Centurion Lumen's core had once been held.
A woman with pink hair stood before him.
"I must admit... I didn't think you'd actually come. I'm rather impressed and stunned that you would either be so daring... Or very foolish."
Was the first thing to pass the woman's lips as a hand held her own weapon of choice which was a unique shortsword. A thoughtful look was on her face as she looked him over.
"My aren't you a piece of work?"
"Well it seems you definitely aren't here for some simple chit chat."
The blond drew his blade and pointed at her. A look of fiery determination burned in his eyes. He wasn't in the mood for some chick to come out of nowhere and challenge him for no reason... So he'd be quick with this one.
"Any last words before we fight?"
A shake of the head soon was followed by the sounds of metal colliding with one another as swords clashed... Artes were cast... And even punches and kicks were thrown at any given opportunity...
However it wasn't even an hour later when the two were worn down... A black remote looking object was in the female's hand.
"I didn't expect to actually use this... I didn't really want to use a bomb to dispose of you. What a pain..."
She muttered to herself as she pretended to sigh. Her thumb floated right above what looked like a button. Which Ratatosk knew would set it off in less than a heartbeat.
"Are you actually going to blow us both up?!"
Red eyes grew wide as he suddenly took a step back. Was she actually serious?! Was she that insane?! He froze in his place as red eyes scanned the altar again... Little black boxes were mounted on the walls... This was no joking matter. If she had taken time to actually set this up... She was very serious...
However while eyes rested on one of the black boxes... He heard a small 'click' as a red light seemed to have beeped on each of the boxes... Yet... They didn't detonate right away... Did this mean they were duds?! Then that meant...
A smile graced the woman's lips as the sound of sword piercing through flesh rang in her ears. An eye opened as she looked proudly of where she stabbed the other being.
"You let your guard down 'Lord' Ratatosk~ Such a shame. This was easier than I though~ I'll give you my name to curse while you go to sleep~ Rene~ Remember it. The woman who outsmarted you~!"
She whispered into his ear as the blade was slowly removed. She watched the male drop to the floor and in a flash... A beautiful red core was able to been seen by her eye.
"Finally now I can wipe Tethe'alla off the face of the map~!"
The delighted woman exclaimed out loud to herself. However before a hand could reach the orb... A monster much larger than she appeared before her and quickly took a careful hold of the core with it's mouth. A fenrir...
"Beast! Return that to me!"
A voice filled with rage called out before the wolf like monster ran off.
"Get back here!"
However her attempt at following the creature failed... And she soon found herself standing at the ruins of the Tower of Mana...
Alone... And without her prize.
However a good distance away... Between the path to the remains of the Tower of mana and Luin... The Fenrir ran as if it were running for it's life. All legs going as fast as it could go as it's one destination rested in it's mind.
Legs finally stopped moving when it came across something. A boy? He didn't look that old... And seemed rather harmless actually. Deciding on blocking the young male's path...
The Wolf like being rested the core on the ground as it stood it's ground silently before the boy. A calm appearance one might say...
The Mundane, Spiral, is such a wonderful person. To see either of her characters appear on my dash makes me smile. The pride she puts into her work, the determination she has. On both commandant-flynn and eggbearslayer, you can see her passion, and you can help but get into it as well. She's been going through some rough times right now, but I truly hope to see her work gracing my dash again soon. It just feels empty without Spiral there.

Hisca had left her apartment feeling rather disarrayed. As she briskly walked the streets of Zaphias, she was busy pulling her hair up and out of her face and trying not to trip on her unlaced boot. She hadn't intended to leave her little abode until later that morning, but circumstances had dictated otherwise.
Hisca scanned the crowd, looking for anyone she was familiar with and hoping they'd be able to help her with a certain problem that had showed up in her house that morning. Hisca had, after wracking her brain and trying to figure out what to do about and coming up short, decided getting out of her house as quickly as possible and finding a helper was the best course of action. A certain green shirt and over-sized bag caught her eye, and Hisca found her mood lifted.
"Oh, hey, Hisca," Karol said. "What's up?"
"Nothing, nothing at all," Hisca said. "Say, Karol, think you could do me a favor?" Hisca shifted her weight from foot to foot. The sooner he agreed to help her, the sooner she'd feel calmer.
"What sort of favor?" Karol said slowly. "Are you sure nothing's wrong?"
"Well, see, I've got a bit of a house problem," Hisca said vaguely. "You can even take it on as a guild job, if you like; I have a reward in mind already."
"I guess I can take a look at it," Karol said. No sooner had the words left his mouth then Hisca promptly turned on heel and started walking back towards her apartment, a bewildered Karol following in her wake. Three minutes later, they arrived at her apartment. Hisca unlocked the door and then paused, opening it just a crack. She peered inside; once she'd ascertained nothing was going to jump out at her, she opened the door wider and stepped inside. Karol followed somewhat reluctantly.
"Hisca, what --"
"Over here, Karol," Hisca said, lowering her voice a bit. Karol made his way cautiously into the room, thinking the only possible explanation for Hisca's skittishness would be the presence of a monster...But when he looked where she was pointing, all he saw was a puppy. He was certain he'd been looking at the wrong thing, but Hisca pointed for emphasis.
"Uh, Hisca, that's just a puppy."
"I'm aware," replied the girl. She realized somewhat belatedly that her fear of all things dog-like was not a widely advertised one, and the only people who would even begin to pick up on with this sort of prompt were Flynn and Yuri. She'd tried to tell herself it was completely harmless, but she just couldn't shake off the fact that one day, the little dog would be full grown and much too like Lambert for her tastes. She intended to get it out of her house long before that could happen.
"I left my door open this morning to cool off the apartment, and I guess this little guy wandered in." Hisca backed away as she spoke and sat down in a chair, putting the kitchen table between her and the dog.
The little monstrosity was snoozing on her rug, blissfully unaware of the turmoil its presence was causing.
"I can't afford to keep a dog," Hisca said, "so I figured I'd find someone to give him to. You want him? He's all yours." Please take him away, please.
Karol approached the puppy and knelt down next to him. When he petted the little dog, it opened sleepy eyes and gave a tiny yawn before licking Karol's hand. Karol checked around his neck, looking for a collar or other form on identification, and found none.
"You sure you don't want to keep him, Hisca? He's really cute. Didn't the knights used to use dogs?"
Who had told him that? Hisca shook her head back and forth. "That's not really a thing we do anymore. Besides, I don't have time to train a dog...Even if you don't want to keep him, would you be able to find a home for him?"
Karol picked up the puppy and stood, giving Hisca a very perplexed look. "Uh, sure. Was that all you wanted me for?"
"Sure is." Crisis averted.
As Hisca walked Karol to the door, she was certain he'd be at least suspicious about her behavior...But she wasn't going to worry about that now. She even found it in her to laugh as she though she heard him mumble 'girls are weird' on the way out.
"Thanks again, Karol!" Hisca let out a sigh of relief as Karol walked back into the morning bustle of Zaphias. If he ever asked, she supposed she wouldn't mind explaining her little phobia. But for now she was just happy to have been saved from her morning crisis by the little guild leader.
