Red Basil and its Cultivation and Usage (Essay)

@Italian food lovers, especially women, know basil (also known as the king of herbs), which is indispensable in pasta and pizza. By the way, perilla, which is indispensable in Japanese cuisine, and basil, which is used in Italian cuisine, both originated in the foothills of the Himalayas.

And interestingly, both basil and perilla have green leaf and red leaf varieties. Red basil is equivalent to red perilla. Perhaps ordinary women do not have that much knowledge, so if they know how to use it, they will be motivated to buy it.

Red basil is an annual, so seeds can be sown every year. I sow a few seeds in a plastic pot, thin them out to three stocks, and plant them where they grow to grow two large and small stocks close to each other.

The reason why I do this is that when I was living in the mountains in Shimonita, Gunma Prefecture, the people in the mountains picked egoma, a herb that is also a member of the labiatae family and looks just like green perilla.

 Egoma was important because it contains the essential ingredients of blue fish (sardines, saury, etc.) that are difficult for people in mountainous areas to consume. and planted together in pairs.” Thinking about it, it is advantageous to get more seeds in mountainous areas where seeds are used instead of sesame seeds. In that sense, I apply that method to red basil as well.

The seed this time is not a one-generation seed called "F1", but a fixed seed, and as long as you get the seed, you can grow it in the same way every year. As an herb, it can withstand unexpectedly high temperatures and humidity, and will not wither unless it is too dried. (Cutting is also possible)

About Egoma

Egoma was an organisation founded by ex-UNIT members Mason Stanwood and Olivia Hayman in the year 1993.

It was originally created with the sole purpose of bringing the Time Lord Omega back from entrapment, and giving him a physical form to reside in-- something he lost long ago.

Since Time Lords and Gallifreyans had mostly disappeared from this universe, it was Egoma's mission (with Omega's guidance) to locate human candidates capable of undergoing illegal and inhumane experimentation to find Omega a suitable body.

The purpose of these experiments was to completely change the biology of a human subject to one that could sustain a Time Lord consciousness within. (In other words, changing a human into a Gallifreyan. A mutation of the two that only had to be good enough for Omega to possess as his own.)

Hundreds of attempts were made, and hundreds failed. Despite Omega's careful guidance, there are very few cases that came back with any sort of success.

With all test subjects, there were five categories ranked by level of significance.

Category one: Least significant of all cases. These usually only involved case studies and research.

Category two: Slightly less common. These cases are researched, but usually not set into actual experimentation/kept track of.

Category three: Every case entered into phase one of experimentation and onwards is classified as three until deemed successful or unsuccessful by Egoma. All in this category are injected with tracking devices and retconned.

Category four: One of the rarest categories, all cases classified as four were failed experiments. Category fours were in all cases, disposed of or Retconned.

Category five: Top priority. These cases were experiments with results successful in terms of what Egoma wanted.

Not all people they bring in are used for Omega, however. Egoma also tests alien technology on many of the human subjects that are brought in, and quickly after Retconned so that they have no memory of it. They deal heavily within the black market as well.

Egoma has been up and running for over twenty years now, and only has a little under twenty people who work for them. The criminal organisation remains top secret, and there are very few people Mason trusts with information.

Anyone that gets too close to discovering the secrets of Egoma will in most cases be Retconned. Some, however, are killed.
