Mentioned something about this in a server but I headcanon Akabayashi tells a new story every time someone asks about his scar. Got it in a train ride in Russian when he fought a group of five men on top of a moving train. Got it from a logging incident when he was chopping wood for a fireplace. Spiders were making a nest in his eye so he had to get it removed. He didn't do his homework so the teacher took his eye! (Akane doesn't believe that, but she'll do his homework so he feels accomplished for his story)

I also think he once told Egor it was from his crabbing side-gig.

Egor is super excited to join Akabayashi on a crabbing excursion, he spends the whole night learning all about it, reading all he can, maybe he buys some tools, those rubber overalls, big long gloves, and Akabayashi just shows up in a pair of gardening gloves and tugs open the cages and grabs the crabs with bare hands, no tools like the books said, "oh this is easier this way, years of experience, trust me"

Egor is just sort of staring in horror, "didn't you say this is how you got the scar on your eye?"

And Akabayashi just has to process that for a second. Did he say that? "Oh no, I got it from falling three stories after a drug lord kicked me through a window"
