SUNDAY SERMON!!!! @shotsdboss & @egypt80bandofficialfanpage "LAST REVOLUTIONARY" Regrann from @egypt80bandofficialfanpage - #Nanterre was steamy! @shotsdboss on the tune "Last Revolutionary", dedicated to all the Heroes (known and unknown, named and unnamed) that paid the price of Our Freedom with their hearts, bodies and life... Don't we wish they too could be granted the divine powers to perhaps come back to life "on the third day"? How many school kids/Youth in Afrika and Diaspora today know or care to know about the lives and struggles of the likes of Stephen Biko, W. E. B. Dubious, Kwame Toure, Amilcar Cabral, Fẹlá Aníkúlápó-Kútì, Patrice Lumumba, Samoa Michel, Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, Shaka Zulu, Thomas Sankara, Huey Newton, Kwame Nkrumah, the Original Black Panther Party members still in jail today, the victims of several lynchings, James Baldwin, Walter Rodney, Franz Fanon, Marcus Garvey, Funmilayo Ransome-Kútì, Gaddafi, Ida Wells, Toussaint Louverture? We should endeavour to know our ancestral heritage, appreciate the ones the bled and died for the degree of freedom we have today... Maybe you should also listen to the song "Why Black Man Dey Suffer" by Baba Fẹlá on the values of knowing one's heritage and history, or else someone else would tell your story to your children and generations to come. #Egypt80 #SeunKuti #Afrobeat #SeunKutiandEgypt80 #BlackTimes #StruggleSounds #FelaKuti #Anikulapo #Egypt80band #Nanterre #BlackandProud #LastRevolutionary #MotherlandMusic #Everybodysayyeahyeah #unadeyhearwellwell? ✊🎷✊🎷✊🎷✊🎷 @lovelydove4eva @lexzyology @adefolarinidowu @debosaxxy_afrobeat @iyaboadeniran @abiodun.shina @newenafrobeat @kalakutamuseum @kaletamusic @felafestival @felabroadway @felabrationng @afrobeatmusic @afrobeatkaraoke @revolutionarycouncilafrobeat @paoafrobeat @afrika_bambaataa_official @afrikanow @anikulapo.brasil @felakutiofficial @fela.kuti @africanmusic @ibeyi @onyekanwelue @one_kyle_kriss @mshowofficial @snoopdogg @diddy @ghanaposts @asirimagazine @africanhistory Source @planetblueroamer - #regrann

A Night of Legacy and Liberation | Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 at Archa Theater
Wednesday night, October 16th, was something special. I found myself at Archa Theater, where history and rhythm collided as Seun Kuti and Egypt 80 took the stage. If you know anything about the legacy of Fela Kuti, you already understand the weight and spirit Seun carries with him, but seeing it live? That’s a whole different vibe.
Seun, the son of the legendary Fela, came through with unmatched energy, pouring his soul into every note on the saxophone. You could feel his father's fire alive in him, but he brings his own truth to the music—something raw, unapologetic, and electrifying. Egypt 80, the band that played alongside Fela himself, was tight as ever. Their rhythm? Pure African soul. It was a masterclass in Afrobeat, mixing political defiance with grooves that made the whole theater move.
From the first note, the energy was thick, you could feel the pulse of liberation in the air, each song like a chant, a rallying cry for freedom. Seun doesn’t just perform; he commands the stage, speaks to the people, and carries on his father’s fight for justice, all while keeping the groove alive. I was there to capture the night with my camera, but the experience went far beyond just the visuals.
This was more than a concert—it was a celebration of heritage, a reminder of the power music holds to unite us and spark change. As the saxophone wailed and the drums pulsed, I realized that this was exactly what we needed—a night to dance, to reflect, and to feel truly alive.
Stay tuned for my photos from the night—they’ll take you right back to the heartbeat of that moment. You can check them out here: Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 | Archa Theater, October 16, 2024
