historical or futuristic

FUTURISTIC 100%. historical shit can be…very boring to me, usually cuz its all very repetitive? And to me its usually way too grounded in established reality and focuses a ton on aesthetic. like history is pretty much done, but the future is absolutely unwritten and unknown to for me its more interesting to speculate abt (pushes my ww1 horror story and 1200s zombie apocalypse story under the bed)

2. the opening chapter or closing chapter

opening, cuz its easier and more exciting to figure out while the closing chapter tends to beeee hard to figure out and kinda sad for me? cuz its over dfvfv like its the END. and u gotta figure out a satisfying wrap up for all these characters and plotlines and all that, which is a monumental task in and of itself (to me) EVEN THOUGH. i agree, working backwards can often hepl tremendously in working out how everything goes (i say this cuz i actually know the ending of my wip Typhoon Landing, so its easier to map out in a way)

3. light & fluffy or dark & gritty

dark and gritty ig? although it can be overdone in a way, where theres next to no levity and people bask in its grittiness. light and fluffy however can be boring and bleh, i'll take dark and gritty over that any day

4. animal companion or found family

found family for sure. i rarely have signifigant animal companions in my story cuz…well, theyre pets. the only one i can think of rn is EFJ, Dez's eventual cat who can TALK, but even then she doesn't get much attention story wise. she's just someone Dez can talk to and take care of v-v but yeh all my stories tend to have a semblance of found family huehue

5. horror or romance

HORRORRRRR cuz i don't have the patience for romance ig lol. i also don't really care for it :p way less interesting to me than horror

6. hard or soft magic system

it depends? i prefer hard magic typically but in the case of certain settings like Discworld, the soft magic system is extremely interesting and feels natural to the world and stories! but for stories like FMA, the hard 'magic' system being built around chemistry and math is like WHHOOAA and its super cool and neat to me. so…either is fine!! if i find it interesting and that it fits in the world it resides in

…actually u know what im gonna be a hater for a sec. one magic system that i absolutely fucking abhor is the H/P system like what the actual fuck. it makes genuinely no sense like evidently u had wizards disappearing their own shit in the 1300s but if ONE FUCKING KID does a self defense on a malevolent entity that will CONSUME HIS FUCKING SOUL ALONG WITH OTHERS, u go to wizard court and yur banned from magic 5evar. the ghosts of dead students haunt the halls of britain wizard school wtf what happened there. the whole blood quantity race thing with wizards who think humans are below them cuz they cant do magic yet they dont even know how dishwashers work (lets not even get into it how the very author is like 'yeah non-magic ppl are lame and stupid lol'). the full blown racism where other supernatural creatures and people are discriminated against like yur a wizard with lycanthropy?? yur a giant? fuck you kill yourself no youre not allowed to learn magic. the teachers and ministry despite knowing the threat that the ghost thingies pose (THEYRE ON SCHOOL FUCKING GROUNDS?? KIDS WILL BE SOUL SUCKED) and like theres TERRORISTS RUNNING AROUND and nobody teaches these kids self defense spells. on TOP of that, they STILL HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL LMAOOO like that is so fucking funny to me, genuinely. like FUCK THOSE WIZARD KIDS FR LOL anyway im done

series cuz for the life of me i cant have short or self-contained stories. i grow too attached to characters and the world and it has to be drawn out to its full potential sorry not sorry

My Dearest Friend,

I hope this letter finds you well, and somewhere that isn’t currently being drenched in miserable rain despite the calendar, I’m quite certain, heralding summer. It’s been good for our garden, but difficult for getting business done otherwise, especially for travelling to Riften as often as we have been.

You see, we’ve finally taken the risk of expanding some of our business there. It’s a bit tricky – old Elgrim is a cantankerous bastard – but even he acknowledges there are problems he doesn’t care to deal with, that we can address. Our pest poisons are doing particularly well. I do advise you, should you visit Riften, stay away from the River Betty Bunkhouse. You pay out the nose for better, but from what I’ve sold to that Innkeep you’re like to lose a toe to a rat in your sleep.

I’ve also developed a good business relationship with a local hunter. Burly, doesn’t talk much, doesn’t take shit. You’d like him. Asked if I needed the ‘barbs of a sabre cat’s dick for some sad sack who can’t get it up’, I believe it was, when I first approached him. It’s nice to have a good supply of antlers and teeth, and Haelga’s fair taken with him. They’ve ‘knocked boots’ more than once, over the past year. It’s nice to see her not just withering away, locked up in a cottage full of dusty old vials and – well, a dusty old woman.

In fact, Haelga has really grown into her own as an alchemist this year, not to mention as a businesswoman. It was her idea to approach the locals inns about pest control. I’m exceedingly proud of her – frankly, she’s more hardworking and clever than half the students were in Winterhold. How goes your own teaching endeavors? I hope you haven’t endured too much exposure to nobility. Tends to numb the brain something awful.

To put it simply, all is well here. At times I crave a little adventure, but the occasional trip to Riften offers a nice change of pace when necessary. I am as content as I can be, if desperately in need of a lay. Can’t help but giggle every time I pass the barrow, even now, and honey always tastes a little sweeter when I think of you.

I know better than to fill this letter with the thousands of questions I’d like to. You’ll share as you feel appropriate, I think. I’ll just have to remember any particularly burning ones for the next time we meet in person.

I miss you terribly. Give my best to your family, and write back soon.

hypothetically if one were to create a sns Orpheus/eurydice crossover would the better option be to leave their shippuden clothes or instead draw some tradition Greek clothes. And on that (hypothetical) note if the individual making the art asked nicely (for some references of Greek clothes) their dear mutual jitter would jitter share some. hypothetically

omg omg okay so hypothetically if a sns orph/eury crossover were to occur i think the best two options would be either to put them in ancient greek clothing OR alternatively traditional japanese clothing would be neat too. hypothetically if one were to create such a crossover i think it’s up to personal preference on whether the individual would want to reflect the myth more or sns more…. that said i’m not confident in my knowledge of japanese clothing so i would not be of much help in picking what wear would be most accurate. i’m putting the rest of this under the cut cause this is going to be LONG

now onto clothing.. sorry in advance i’m wordy because this is literally My Thing. to explain why i’m choosing the particular clothes i am, the earliest reference to orpheus (a fragment by ibycus) was dated in the late archaic period. he would have had to been alive at *latest* in the archaic period. since it was in late archaic and the archaic period spanned a few centuries i will refer to orpheus as if he were born in the archaic period.

there are several options for archaic dressings.

i will start with the chiton/chitoniskos

chitones are often associated with the women of greece HOWEVER this is what is more popular in late archaic period (5th century bce) and onwards. before then the long chiton was used commonly among both men and women. the long chiton was used by both men and women up to roughly mid 6th century bce when men started wearing a shortened version of the chiton called the chitoniskos— this made the chiton a better wear for athletes and soldiers. around roughly mid 5th century the chiton was not used by younger men at all anymore. older men, priests, and historical figures still often wore the chiton though.

now the chiton is fastened with a belt/girdle around the waist, and the sleeves are secured either by being sewn, pinned, or with a broach. the sleeves could be long or short, depending on how large the fabric used was (and how it’s pinned). here are some images to help visualize the chiton

there is also another further alternate of the chitoniskos that was used with soldiers and athletes, which is the exomis. this is a chitoniskos which has parted with the sleeves and is simply fastened over one shoulder for more mobility.

and now onto add-ons which were commonly added on top of chitones/chitoniskos/exomis

the himation

a cloak like garment that was draped over one shoulder and wrapped around the body. these could be worn on their own but were often paired with one of the above. worn by both men and women.

the chlamys

another cloak, however this was worn exclusively by men, and were shorter than the himations (however longer versions did appear as time went on). it was fastened on the shoulder.

okay, that’s all the options i’ll give but if you want more information let me know lol…. sorry again for the lengthy post, i wanted to give enough information about each garment for the hypothetical artist to choose which clothes they would like to suit sasuke and naruto best in the (hypothetical) drawing. lol.
