Dressed in all black, death sat alone at one of the outdoor tables, absentmindedly stirring her drink as the sounds of Founder's Day carried on around them. Her attention wasn't on the crowd. It was on the empty seat across from her. Death was waiting for someone ... that someone just didn't know it. Every few moments, dark eyes drifted toward the passing faces before returning to her meal. Patient as ever, she waited. After all, eternity had taught her many things. Waiting was one of them.
