i was gonna post this a couple days ago but now we’re here and i forget what i was gonna say so have a mostly-casual Map Update!

This is a mostly-updated version of the Maelands (or Maelani, as they’re otherwise known!). What bits of linework I’ve done so far have taken hours, and i have yet to do the linework for the Godwoods, the Lellan Desert, or the Melkan Prairie, so the ehlverse map won’t be completely updated for quite a while a;lsdkfj

I’m planning to have the map work with several layers on WorldAnvil, so that you can see biomes/linework/landmasses separate from one another, but that’s still a ways out. Hopefully y’all like it when it’s done!

Ehlverse Map - Update 9.10.2020

I spent about half an hour earlier adding in a bunch of the important, but smaller stops throughout Whispers, and a few places that are important in Firebreathers and Lifeblood! Each pin has a name and description when you hover over it, though some are more ~important~ than others!

If you want to check it out and get a little bit of a feel for the basics of the world, you can find the map on WorldAnvil here. I’ll be updating the key in the bottom left in these next few minutes!

Happy wbw! In honour of maps, what maps are you most happy with/proud of (for any of your worlds) or which maps do you want to make in the future??

Currently, I only have one big map of the entire Ehlverse, with little pins in it showing the different cities and landmarks, but I’m really proud of that one!!! I’m working on fleshing out the map of the Maelands, and soon, I’m going to try my hand at mapping out the different cities throughout my WIPs which is going to be hard for firebreathers cause theyre all built into or huddled in the roots of Godtrees

For now, since I like sharing them, here’s a screengrab of the Ehlverse as a whole, as it appears on WorldAnvil!!

it’s kind of hard to zoom out to see it all at once without losing the detail, but!! each of those pins is a city/landmark or, in the case of the black ones, information about the continents!

Also that red one at the top left is the North Pole, because I struggle doing that thing we do IRL with the poles where we stretch them out to be across the top/bottom.

Without the pins, it looks like this:

And I’m currently trying to make them all a bit more detailed and less color-coded with lineart!! It’s a slow process so far, but I’m getting there!!!

THE EHLVERSE

The updated map is a hell of a lot more vertical than the last one, and I still have a lot of detail to go into down the line to properly denote the mountains and deserts and whatnot, but this is the base!

The red dot towards the top of Emarye is the North Pole, by the way! The equator is slightly below Chard (pronounced card, i didnt realize it was a vegetable until someone pointed it out) and all of the major biome changes are color coded!

If you want to see where cities and other significant locations are, you should check out my WorldAnvil page! I’ll be updating it periodically as I get further into Whispers and other, non-Maelani-based WIPs, so I’ll be sure to keep y’all updated on that front, too!
