It’s hard to condemn manipulation of lonely teens when you are also a manipulated lonely teen. That’s what made me love him waaaaay back in the day. =/ But your points are spot-on.

It turns out I have a lot of feelings about who/which monsters the young ones are falling for. A lot of concern, and it emerges in the form of anxious rage. 

Teen girls in particular are given way too many bad monsters to fixate on (Edward from Twilight comes to mind) and not enough good monsters to fixate on (Goliath from Gargoyles) 

...or you know like, regular humans. I suppose humans should be an option too.

The pressure to stay relentlessly positive sucks. I support your negativity and also I hope it passes soon bc i know it’s not any fun either.

Honestly, I don’t feel much pressure to stay positive, in the sense that I don’t give much of a fuck about what anyone else thinks I should feel. And, like, I’m a depressive and have been my whole life, the only people who would think I should be cheerful are people have never spent more than a minute with me. Besides, I’m a weirdly positive person in a lot of ways, really... I don’t feel positively about shit, but I want to? Or something. Like, I started to list things I was feeling negatively about, but when I got to the second one I immediately thought about the not-negative aspects of it -- not to correct myself, but because that’s what I instinctively look for! 

I just wish that doing A Thing didn’t only leave me feeling shitty about all the things I haven’t gotten done. Like, the accomplishment is overwhelmed instantly by the ever-growing Must Do list.

Fic? Oh my I wrote a BUNCH of SGA fic back in the day. It's all on FFNET under the name Alipeeps. I do recall there being a scene in A Merry Little Christmas where we get to see a glimpse of Sheppard doing his scarily good at fighting thing. :D

There's a great McShep fic with killer Sheppard (who then becomes tired and bloody Sheppard!)
