Kaaras found himself looking down when he heard the voice, accompanied by a sudden weight that sat itself upon his lap. He didn’t consider himself to be an overly tall qunari--because he wasn’t. In fact, Kaaras was on the shorter side of his kind, although he still stood over most humans at 6 foot 7. But having someone crawl their way onto his lap had been the most surprising thing that had happened to him all week.
Long, expressive ears flicked upward in surprise when he saw who the voice belonged to. An unfamiliar dwarven woman. It was uncommon that those at Skyhold didn’t know who he was, so he had half a mind to think that maybe she didn’t know she was sitting in the Inquisitor’s lap of all places--and if she did, then she was one bold woman.
Innocence told the Inquisitor that she had no clue about who’s lap she was perched upon, and he’d not make the assumption that she was attempting to make a move on him considering they were in the tavern. The amount of rowdiness that went on in this place each and every night was enough that most people would have assumed she’d been making a pass at them.
He grew tense at the contact, considering he was a rather sensitive individual when it came to touch. If Cassandra was here, or Cullen, or any of his advisers, he was sure they’d be scolding the woman. As it were, he wasn’t within their company, and he always gave the benefit of the doubt.
“Ah... often enough,” he replied, heat rising in his cheeks. “I’m going to assume you haven’t the slightest in who I am. Or perhaps you’re just a very bold individual, and for that I’m certainly impressed.”
Put him in front of an army and he’d be at the ready within a heartbeat, but when a woman sat on his lap? He became an awkward mess, all blushes and floundering words.
“D-do you make it a habit of sitting in strangers laps? Or am I just special?”
