can the muses get sick from this starsickness? is anyone else other than that one kid ill?

hello there!

for the simpler question: other than the one child from the children of mareula, only carina, lepton’s daughter, has starsickness. this might change as the event progresses, though at the moment we’re sticking with those two.

as for muses: yes! if you would like to contract this mysterious illness to make your participation in this event more interesting, you’re free to. 

as a note, a small synopsis of starsickness symptoms is:

black spots all over the person’s body, notably in very star like shapes

high fever

prone to hallucinations 

eventual coma if left untreated

this mainly affects children, though honestly, newcomers don’t have the same defenses that the villagers do, due to being a bit new. take that as you will.

hello !! I’m setting up a blog to apply, but I have a couple of questions before I do so. 1) do I have to reserve a character before sending my blog in with completed app & stats sections? and 2) the stats section had stuff in it like housing and career that I didn’t think would be given to my character until I was accepted. Should I just put n/a for all those sections until they are assigned to my character?

hello future wisher! we're excited to have you join the great white, so let's get to your questions!

1) you don't have to reserve a character in order to app them. reserving a character however will secure your spot whilst you work on the blog and app, so basically you won't have to worry about someone apping your muse of choice!2) you'll be able to complete your stats page after your app has been processed, such as housing and weapon. the career section is completely up to the mun's discretion, and if you're not quite sure about those, you can always check our careers list!

i know staying in your assigned bunkhouse (or in any bunkhouse at all) isn’t something enforced in the village but is there any system in place for new villagers to apply for a bunkhouse change if they’d like to bunk with other characters they’re familiar with from their time before eidolon? asking for a team of girls who’d die for each other.

omg sry for inundating yall BUT what's the technology level in the village re: weapons? do we have guns? if so, what kind? also, would it be possible to get an official google docs writeup at some point on the technology level in diff areas (i.e. hygiene, medical tools, weapons, construction, agriculture, cooking, crafting) - i know some of it is available in various location descriptions but it'd be super helpful to have it all in one place!

it’s no problem at all!

for now, guns aren’t very common around the village. mainly hunters are the only ones to possess them, and they tend to be sourced from frederika. even then, though, guns are scarce, as they use up a lot of resources, with most preferring to use a bow for similar results. if you use valuable bullets on another villager rather than hunting, well… you’ve seen the consequences, haven’t you?

often these guns aren’t particularly advanced, resembling weapons from 100-200 years ago in our time. occasionally some weapons will have a very modern appearance, though – similar to the technology in the warmhouse. curious.

for now, we have a lot of projects we’re working on for eidolon’s future, so a document on technology is not currently in the cards. but we will definitely take note of your suggestion and see if we can implement something in the future!

hey mods, local murderer here. about the seal that's been placed on sho: will it take effect before he is able to carry out any malicious actions, or midway/after? & will it punish him for malicious speech too? I'm assuming not since he can still speak wihle he's petrified, but I wanted to be certain! about the shed: does it have any furnishings/utilities? also, is it safe to assume that his punishment is given out on the same day as the crime, & thus the 1 mo. sentence begins on the same day?

hello, local murderer! i’m glad you asked.

the seal will take effect immediately as he begins to take action. for example, if intending to punch someone, when beginning to ball his fist he could only curl his fingers slightly before becoming paralysed. speech is fine and no punishment is taken for that.

as for the shed, it isn’t the most welcoming of accommodations, but has everything one needs -- a mattress, one light, and a single clothes dresser. it has no windows, though, and the bathroom happens to be in the warmhouse... it seems you’re right next door.

finally, as the crime took place early in the morning, in this case the sentence would have been given out on the same day!

hi mods! now that we have some exciting violence happening in the great white, could yall clarify the explicit gore rule? how much violence can we portray in posts? is it more a rule to avoid ppl rping out gratuitous guro scenarios or would you prefer no description of injuries at all? is it a "use your best judgement and don't actively be weird about it" thing? tysm!!

as you can probably tell by now, eidolon isn’t always as peaceful as people would like. violence is something that will occur at times, and that is okay! those who appear in the great white are desperate, and desperation can lead to… a varying spread of solutions.

description of injuries is absolutely fine – as long as you don’t linger on them in an extreme or gratuitous manner. we also expect more graphic violence to be appropriately tagged, or under read mores if you deem it necessary. as you said, it is mainly to avoid extensive ‘guro’ roleplaying, which we do not feel is appropriate for the group.

this is a difficult line to define, so it is largely left to the mun’s discretion. if you have any concerns about your judgement, feel free to message a mod privately and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

Hello! May characters react differently than how "you" is described thinking and behaving in the event post, or are we expected to have the same thought process, memories, etc and take the same actions as "you" does?

when writing posts in second person, our goal is to detail an experience that can give the most information possible from a general character’s view to the reader. however! not all muses need to have this exact experience themselves if you don’t want them to! feel free to mix and match and use the pieces we’ve given you so that you can craft a scenario that would be most enjoyable for you to use.
