“ When the warriors of his Great Company found his body, it seemed like the Young King’s saga was over. There was only one option to save his life – attempting to cross the Rubicon Primaris. Ragnar’s spirit was strong and it was not yet ready to travel to the Halls of the Emperor so, somehow, the Wolf Lord clawed his way back to life. “
“ The greatest Ork Warboss of the 41st Millennium managed to do what no one in the galaxy could manage – effectively kill Ragnar Blackmane, one of the Imperium’s greatest heroes. He didn’t have the fight all his own way though as Ragnar did manage to chop his head off. Of course, such a flesh wound wasn’t enough to stop the self-proclaimed prophet of Gork and Mork. “
This from the same setting that has space marines packed to bursting with extra organs to tank damage, and cybernetic prosthetics, and dreadnoughts (the thing specifically used as storage for deadish marines who are too useful to lose). First I heard that Ragnar got his ass handed to him, I honestly thought GW were attempting to break the mould a bit instead of drowning another character in the shallow stream Primaris, but no.
Also, good on you Ghazghkull, you managed to effectively kill a manlet, only to turn him into a normie.
I also can’t shake the feeling that Fabius Bile is also Primaris now. The pic of his backpack would have had me breaking out in hives if I still had the energy to care about 8E.
Welp, its official folks. Eighth Edition is almost here. It can be preordered on June 3rd and will launch on June 17th. That's super close!
I love the look of the minis in the Dark Imperium box set, especially the look of the plague marines!
Just look at them! They're not decked out in new generic space marine garb with just guts hanging out, no! They're armor look pre-heresy,even their weapons are pre-heresy, just look at those boltguns!
Although I will say, this guy looks kinda....stupid XD. That giant ass bell while looking cool, is like his same size, so I dont know how he plans on getting through anything but a damn titan sized hallway. Love his little buddy though.
Primaris Space marines look good too! Still dont know how I feel about their fluff, but I absolutely adore their minis! We get a look at the new jump marines, which is only a three-man squad it seems, and the plasma gun wielding Hellblaster squad with some equally impressive new plasma guns.
Last but not least, we have the book, or should I say books.
There is the core rulebook, and also a selection of five faction based books sectioned off into three overarching factions: Imperium, chaos, and Xenos.
Depending on how expensive each of those books are, along with the core rule book, I'm either super excited for them or marginally terrified.
Also, we are getting a new fluff book by Guy Haley, chronicling Rowboat girlyman and the superduper space marine’s fight against da chaos fart boys on Ultramar. Basically a narrative campaign book for the dark imperium box set.
This I will defiantly be picking up.
All in all, I feel its a damn fine lineup for what's essentially a soft reboot of 40k in my eyes. I'll post a link to the actual article on their 40k site, as I skimmed over quite a few details but, depending on the price, I'm really lookind forward to just about everything here.
