💘Is there any posted fic you want to rework/re-edit/re-write? Ooooo boyyyyy, if I really loved myself I would revise my Divergent fic and expand on some of my earlier writing where I had ambitious ideas but only the stamina to write like, 200 words at a time, but my stamina hasn't gotten much better since then.

💝 What is a fic that got a different response than you were expecting?

Every year, every autumn, my Billy/Stu fics I wrote for Scream (1996) get this steady uptick in kudos they don't enjoy at other times of the year and it's really charming to me. Something similar has been happening with Daily Dracula.

20: What is something you’re obsessed with?

Apart from the stuff I post on here about? Scams, computer crime, and fraud. Weird supply chain and product sourcing issues. The structure and presentation of product information in online storefronts. Early Modern Jesuit history. Early Modern religious history in general, which I do post about here not infrequently but am basically always thinking about.

23: Who are five of your favorite bands/musical artists?

Leonard Cohen, Bruce Springsteen, Scissor Sisters, the Magnetic Fields, Rasputina.

45: What’s the worst date you’ve ever been on?

I went on a perfectly lovely first date with a fellow who expressed a strong interest in political activism, organizing, and Episcopal priesthood. (All fine and dandy with me.) We made plans to meet for a second date and texted for a while, then he ghosted me. Later I found out he ghosted me to become a Roman Catholic monk. I can’t even be mad because it’s pretty clearly his genuine spiritual vocation but it was still the greatest plot twist for me since I’m normally the one who panics and ghosts people.

For the fall askmeme: bonfire, spice, cider?

Bonfire: Describe your dream house.

Creaky polychrome Victorian with a parlor and a fireplace, full of bookshelves and clutter. I live in an area with a bunch of extant Victorian and Edwardian buildings (and some very very sexy 1920s apartment buildings) so this is a relatively achievable dream -- basically I want hardwood floors, mice in the walls, and drafty windows. I’m sure it would be much more bold and spicy on one of these ask memes to say I’m into minimalist modern architecture but really I’m interested in anything I can fill up with candles, picture frames, books, and rocks. And a guest bedroom! Being able to just offer a place for visiting friends to stay over is a real fantasy for me. 

Spice: Have you ever encountered a house that you believed to be haunted?

So far I have nimbly evaded any kind of paranormal experience in my life, outside of dreaming of dead people, but I’ve definitely been in a house where I could look at it and go “yep, this place seems low-key haunted”. My sister and her wife once owned a home with a secret basement room full of abandoned hardwood children’s schoolroom furniture from the 19th century, and that definitely made me go hmm. 

Cider: A food that you disliked as a child but now enjoy.

Right here with every other Serious Eats-reading, grain bowl-preparing 20something here: broccoli! I’m also slowly, slowly, slowly warming to blue cheese -- the taste isn’t the problem, but the texture of uncooked cheese crumbles. Maybe it’s a visibility thing.

I don't remember how textual it is, but in the sfstl production there was definitely an indication that the reason Leontes thought Hermione wanted to bang Polixines was HE actually wanted to bang Polixines
