I was just curious, have you ever thought about the fact that 'Fumus is not his real name' ? Like, do you have any theories or ever wondered why Mogeko would hide his real name ?

I have, actually, and it’s a topic I discuss infrequently with people. More people ask me what I think Fumus’ real name is, and man I’m not even going to try to guess because I know that’ll be wrong.  When it comes up in roleplays, I just say he has one or elude to it in some form or fashion.  

Some of my theories are based on my own headcanons as well, so I’ll throw them out.  Perhaps Fumus went by his real name before the war, but changed it afterwards.  Maybe he changed it for personal reasons to escape something or someone.  Maybe he changed his name after he became corrupt, believing that who he was now was “Fumus”.  

The reason could be more simple than that.  I mean Mogeko made a really simple reason Samekichi’s real name wasn’t Samekichi, they could do the same for Fumus.

Because I have so little information on this asshole I can really only guess at things at this rate.  I’m sure I have more theories I haven’t discussed but I just woke up and I made you wait a while before I answered.  I am sorry about that.
