The daughter of Eirika and Lyon from an AU where Lyon survives his possession by Formortis.

The naturally gentle and inquisitive princess of Grado. She was taught sword fighting by her uncle for self-defense despite her real passion lying in magic like her father. When her kingdom comes under threat, she takes up her sword and studies of dark magic to defend it in place of her parents. (Lyon survived his possession in this AU the cost of most of his physical health, with his wife, the main ruler of Grado, remaining by his side to support him)

Knoll is her mentor for dark magic.

However, during her journey, she starts to hallucinate hearing Formortis's voice... 

Relationships 

Athena adores both of her parents dearly. She shows clear concern for her father's sickly disposition and wishes to help him, although he has forbidden her from seeking magical solutions. Her mother, Eirika, serves as a source of inspiration, and she always goes to her for advice when she isn't too busy.

Knoll has only taught her dark magic gradually and heavily emphasizes to not make the same mistakes her father did.

My second favorite ship in Sacred Stones is transfem Lyon x transfem Eirika, I think they'd be adorable together plus it would make the scene where Eirika hands over the stone to Lyon that much more heartbreaking
