"Do you think it's an easy thing to be positive all the time? To pretend everything is alright when it's not? Why should I lie to myself?"
"Why do you want to spend your life in misery, thinking of a hypothetical future without you around?"
She gritted her teeth, "What do you know? You're twenty-six. Women swoon over you, men admire you, you're loved in every corner you pass around. Yet, this love for you is just a breeze. You never touched the storm, prince Ephraim, so don't judge me for my inability to let go."
"You're making him miserable."
"Don't __" Eirika whispers.
Ephraim pressed his lips for a moment, then looking at Monica, "You're making him miserable, happy and mad, you're controlling his mood. With a single word from you, he'll blow out the world, and you're scared that he'll 'move on'?" Then mumbles, "If my knights are as half dedicated."
"You want your knights to fall in love with you?"
"If it'll push them to work, then sure."
An excerpt from chapter 3 of my fic: Slumbering knight
__
In this fic I tried to explore the relationship of Orson and Monica, as partners and individuals, especially Monica.
While this fic is a Canon divergence you can see where Orson descends to madness begins and where his Canon fate diverges.
