Shigeru while his mouth is sharp and taunting, he still speaks in a rather formal, polite manner 😭

When he gets along well with Satoshi and is nice to him, his voice tends to soften up and looses that usual edge. You can clearly hear it when he tells the other to do his best, when they parted ways or when they got that moment together.

The only times when we do hear that mocking tone again is when Shigeru is teasing Satoshi. But the difference is that, it lacks the usual bite from season 1.

Please watch at least the original dub of Pokemon to understand Gary Oak's (Shigeru) character better. Everytime I see posts of people still calling or interpreting him as a jerk and saying his character growth is non-existent or comes from nowhere, I die a little inside

When Takeru nudges Yamato and casually compliments Taichi to get a reaction out of him:

01 Yamato would have try convincing Takeru that Taichi is not [compliment], while he lists down other traits and features of him that Takeru will definitely teases the hell out of his brother later.

Psi Yamato will think of it first before admitting in the most fondest expression possible and agrees with Takeru. He then would say a few other compliments that sounds like he's been observing Taichi enough to see those things.

Despite them have their life consumed with college, part-time jobs and the occasional Digimon meet-ups that happen in between, Yamato and Taichi still made the time to go out and have dinner together to catch up with one another.

When the conversation gets deep and serious, they turn it light without causing a stiff atmosphere between them.

And to top it all, the distance between their colleges and the places they stayed in aren't exactly close, so to see them making time for the other to meet up is a sweet instance of how close they have become.

Another thing I noticed in JP is that Shigeru tends to drop his polite, formal way of speaking, down to his tone whenever he butts head with Satoshi.

Do people forget the fact that Taichi can cook too?

He cooked for his little sister when she was still a toddler. Has been able to since his parents were away, visiting their in-laws.

In what way do Kizuna Taichi gave an impression that he lives on instant noodles when he is fully capable of making simple homemade meals. Did people forget about that?

If he were unable to cook or has the lack of energy to do so; there are other food he would pick up from the convenience store, other than cup noodles. There are variety of options he could choose from there.

Taichi canonically tease Yamato with "Onii-chan" feels like it's gonna developed into becoming an affectionate nickname for him and—awaken a hidden kink between them when they're getting intimate 🫣
