Tai + Beer - Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna - Feb 21, 2020
Despite them have their life consumed with college, part-time jobs and the occasional Digimon meet-ups that happen in between, Yamato and Taichi still made the time to go out and have dinner together to catch up with one another.
When the conversation gets deep and serious, they turn it light without causing a stiff atmosphere between them.
And to top it all, the distance between their colleges and the places they stayed in aren't exactly close, so to see them making time for the other to meet up is a sweet instance of how close they have become.
Love for Sasunaru never goes away. It just goes dormant until it hits you like a ton of bricks again on a random Saturday
All the volume covers of Naruto remix edition
Oh yes Sakura, he doesn’t know what love is. :)
Thank you for watching Boruto #65, My director, Chengxi Huang gave me a lot of freedom in designing the choreography…Thank you very much. Momoshiki was supposed to use “ba gua zhang” and Naruto was supposed to use a “wing chun” esque fighting style. I hope those two fighting styles can be seen somewhat in my cut…
Whenever he was near Naruto, Sasuke unconsciously let his guard down, forgetting that he was in the middle of a fight as he stared (deeply) at Naruto. Because Naruto was Sasuke's weakness. This was the reason he gets angry and makes his final decision to kill Naruto. So he would be completely alone in a world without Naruto.
I’m Japanese but in the Japanese fandom, actually there are a lot of 2chan(the jp ver of 4chan basically) threads discussing about the possibility of Naruto being homosexual, and actually I’ve seen a good portion of people admitting it even when the basic demographic of 2chan are extremely homophobic. In the Japanese fandom, for alot of ppl the last straw to make them think he’s homosexual is that one scene in chapter 175 where Sasuke and Naruto are about to fight in the roof top and Naruto expressed his excitement. I forgot the official English translation, but in Japanese Naruto says “何だこの気持ち…下腹の辺りがキュンとする…” which directly means “What is this feeling….my lower stomach feels tight/feels butterflies…” Idk how this sounds in other countries, but in Japan this expression is generally used by females who are sexually turned on and therefore feels their uterus going tight because of that. So many people in the Japanese fandom were shocked when they first read this line including me, cause it literally means he’s being sexually excited in a VERY non-hetero way. In the middle of his thoughts Naruto also remembers when Sasuke tells him he’s interested in fighting him, where Naruto reacted “ドキ”(aka “doki”). So yeah I lot of people just agreed that there was no heterosexual explanation for this scene, I still can’t believe Kishi decided to use this expression😭
I can't believe the editors decided to publish that 😭 Kishimoto has often linked fighting/getting stronger with feelings of excitement for both Naruto and Sasuke so it's definitely a running theme for them. The last straw being chapter 175/700 is so funny.
And thank you for this ask! So Kishimoto knew about all the gay allegations (since he probably frequented the forums himself) and he did nothing to stop them, he just kept feeding the flames. Wow I wonder why he did that 😀
I would take caution against taking opinions from 2channel threads too seriously. They are mostly written from the perspective of anti Naruto fan ( both the series and the character) and use his obsession towards Sasuke as a point of bashing.
Although not a constant topic of discussion, threads on Naruto's relationship with Sasuke comes from time to time but very rarely is there any honest discussion on it in regards to the actual work, generally speaking there's an underlying homophobic sentiment to it, they label Naruto as psycho lol and are much more likely to emphasize Naruto as gay than Sasuke.
But yes that particular scene and line is definitely one of the most talked about. But what's baffling is that it's an expression usually used on female characters
Here are some some reactions to it.
Another thing I love is that immediately after vote2, sasuke talks about wanting to understand naruto’s pain better…it’s not that he ever thought naruto had it good lol, he’s the first one we see sticking up for him on screen and he says himself that seeing naruto hurt would hurt him too, when they were children, that the villagers’ rejection of his attempts at connecting to them would “weigh on his mind”, but he wants to understand further than that. He wants them to “share their pain” mutually. He doesn’t want to sit back and let naruto be his hero and isn’t thrusting him into a dehumanizing savior role, like most of the village did immediately post pain arc. And I think for someone like naruto, who clearly resented and was disturbed by this role and forced down his discomfort, this would be such a profound and powerful thing
“ The Connected Feelings”
The obsessesive resentment Sakura and SS stans have towards Naruto should actually be studied.
Like they will forever be resentful of the fact that he has everything they want for Sakura in canon, and thus they have to leech off of his character moments and dynamics.
Naruto is the only one canonically confirmed to physically look like Kushina while ALSO being similar to her in personality. There is no such indication for Sakura in the manga at all, given that the only person she's physically compared to is Mebuki, her irrelevant mother. Naruto is consistently compared to both Minato and Kushina. He is the only one paralled with them in a significant way. His parallels with his parents are reinforced throughout the manga, with everyone from Tsunade to his parents themselves remarking on the intentional similarities. Kishimoto having a distinct artstyle, does not a parallel make.
Naruto is the only who who meaningfully helped Sasuke and helped him not feel alone. This is confirmed by Sasuke himself saying repeatedly that Naruto was his one and only friend. This was confirmed in his conversation with the sage and reaffirmed throughout VOTE 2, most notably in his statement to Naruto before he attempted to strike at him. Naruto is the only one who Sasuke considered a weakness. Naruto is the only one Sasuke meaningfully thinks about outside the context of Team 7. Naruto is the only one said to be changing Sasuke's heart and goals. Naruto is the only one who never gave up on Sasuke. How is this even an argument. Aside from the fact that Sasuke says so verbatim, we quite literally see as much during the 5 Kage Summit arc. Sakura quite literally attempts to kill Sasuke 2 times, and almost gets killed both times because of her insufficiency.
Sakura is not the only Team 7 member who became strong without "external power" like Kurama. Sakura was born with perfect control, an immanent ability. She is not like Rock Lee. The difference between Sakura and Naruto is that Naruto actually trained meaningfully. Sakura, who had no motivation on her own accord and chose to get stronger primarily for Sasuke, was trained by a legendary sanin and spent all of post timeskip getting defeated by everyone from Omoi to Kabuto, or his ass in any case. She said she would get stronger to help Naruto and ended up sitting and crying for help during the Pain arc. She said she would protect Naruto by killing Sasuke and ended up having to get saved twice, by Kakashi and Naruto, during the 5 Kage Summit Arc. During the war arc, she put down the mentor she learned from and immediately and repeatedly had to be saved. There are no panels of post time skip Sakura training, whereas there are multiple of Naruto training during his power ups. We see him train for sage mode. We see him train for the rashenshuriken. We see him train to utilize his 9 tails power. Naruto at his weakest, the beginning of Kazekage Rescue arc, was able to adeptly put the plan in motion to get the bells from Kakashi. Sakura with her book smarts was not able to do the same.
They need to learn the difference between assumptions and inferences of conclusions drawn from the manga with reasonable textual evidence to support. Everything I've stated is shown and/or stated in the manga whereas they have to rely on 192928838 different novels and fillers and fanfics in defense. Is it not ironic that the people who whine about "canon" can only use extra canon source material in defense 🤔
?????? The fanfics they wish were canon (the only semi-plausible part being the one where Sasuke sees a shadow of his family in Team 7 + because he never individuates Sakura)
Vs. THE ACTUAL MANGA where Kishimoto gives Naruto and Sasuke sun and moon tattoos to solidify their status and yin and yang soul mates

I know sns stans like the warm and fuzzy translation but sasuke uses the term 安心した (anshinshita) which is past tense of its verb. 安心 (anshin) is the stem of the suru verb 安心する (anshinsuru) and uses the kanji 安 (an, yasu) which means ease, peace. it can also mean cheap (monetarily). and the kanji 心 (shin, kokoro) which means (heart). these kanji put together mean "feel safe" or "feel ease (of heart)" and has a nuance of content feelings or newfound safety when a burden was lifted
edit: it's used as a term of relief but it's nuance is deeper than just pure relief
like yes the verb 安心する can be used to be like "I feel better/relieved after hearing those words" or like "oh thank god i feel better knowing _blank" but in naruto and sasukes context it's used about the way eachother makes the other feel complete grounded relief and emotional safety when the other is happy/goofing around/safe
cash re-reads naruto | chapter 308
This is also why naruto becoming obsessed with sasuke just makes sense to me. He lashed out and was openly envious and petty and competitive with sasuke at every turn but sasuke still gave him food, still saved his life, still acknowledged him as a capable fighter. Sasuke doesn’t take him picking fights personally and also instinctively grasps naruto’s issues (he points out how alone he is in both vote fights whereas someone like, idk, shikamaru, literally only realizes how isolated naruto was when everyone sees his memories in the final arc of the series). With nearly everyone else, naruto had to prove his worth, often through risking his life and safety. He had to extend empathy to neji first. He had to extend empathy to gaara first. He had to comfort Sakura over sasuke then promise to bring him back for her, risking his life, before she fully acknowledged him as a friend. Not that any of these are bad friendships, but it’s so obvious naruto needed someone who doesn’t expect him to be their hero. Like it’s obviously intentional and symbolic that sasuke is the only one fighting side by side with naruto while everyone else relies on and channels their hopes and fears into him.
