Take moment to look up the issues regarding lgbtq content which is banned in Russia nd possibility of spying. Russian users can be jailed for it. Foreign users can have their journals deleted for it (remember strikethrough) but I have jogged along there for years, it’s familiar to me, I bck up elsewhere and I figure that these days facebook is under more threat from Russians than their own site.
Wow, I had an account many years ago, which is still there even though I haven’t posted in a long time. I just created another one and I was looking to see what their policy is in regards to nsfw/explicit stuff and saw that the original agreement is in Russian.

that lane is usually really busy at all times, it is such a useful shortcut, so it feels a bit ominous that it has been kept closed for so long, especially since arrests have been made. They’ve moved the CSI tent at least once, for some reason, and were poking around in the bushes across the road yesterday. I doubt any real details will come to light before they get someone on trial, though

I'm with you on this though I even deleted my Dreamwidth because I didn't get on with it. I'll stick with my LJ on an occasional basis - at least that is DW compatible.
I maintain both (LJ and DW that is), but my LJ is completely locked down now - I set up DW to cross-post. But I only have, like, three friends on DW because I managed to lose touch with almost all my LJ friends during the migration and never picked them up again, and never used the account for actual conversation or browsing because it was set up purely as an archive, so actually using it as more than my own occasional personal journal would take some setting up!

Wellies for dinosaurs in the park! The Little’Un was thrilled - although a bit scared of the T-Rex, who is trying out his voice box today and was a bit big and loud for her. Her favourite is the triceratops, so we spent ages just staring at it!
