remember this post? well, it was actually written ab these very headcanons, they were the first thing I started to write after joining the hermitship community, I'm sorry if this has more plot than you wanted...
the two of them don't interact much before EX gets banned from Hermitcraft
one day Evil Xisuma just appears on Joe's little island in a puff of purple smoke, startling Joe and claiming he has escaped from imprisonment in the Void
Joe is wary of him but still helps him hide at the Hermitage, the man may be "evil" but that doesn't mean Joe will let him freeze in the Void again, that's just inhumane
Evil Xisuma still acts evil and Joe does actually get mad at him when he dies to EX's trap once, but when he sees how uneasy and tense the man is under his mask (literal and figurative), he decides to just let it go
Evil Xisuma starts following Joe with a potion of invisibility to troll him while he works, but then he hears the man talking and singing to himself and just stays to listen
Joe actually knows he's right behind him and feels happy EX wants to hang out with him, even if he isn't ready to admit it to himself yet
Evil Xisuma learns a lot about compassion and morality from this as it is the first time he chooses to listen to someone as opposed to being yelled at for how evil and bad he is
is he even evil, or is it just nobody gave him a chance, just like in one of Joe's stories..?
Joe gives Evil Xisuma poetry prompts and encourages him to transform his negative emotions and experiences into art, he always rolls his eyes at that but secretly loves writing them, it appeals to his (not so secret) edgy side
Joe always compliments him on the poems and seems to trust him now, and for the first time in his life Evil Xisuma can feel safe, almost understood even
EX actually has really low self esteem and suffers from severe abandonment issues, he acts tough to mask it but Joe's random acts of kindness make him melt inside every time
Joe's just such a good person, he puts his heart and soul into all his projects, and he's so smart, and pretty, and... oh shit is this what that "love" he's read so much about in poems is??? well fu-
Joe is really good at reading people and that, in addition to Evil Xisuma being an awkward outsider with barely any socialization, makes him realize what's going on immediately, but he gives Evil Xisuma space to come to terms with his feelings
one time Joe comes back to the hermitage only to find a feast carefully set up in the big dining hall, and Evil Xisuma taking an angry nap among a few armor stand books ripped to pieces, with fire marks on his gloves
Joe puts a blanket over him and lies down on a nearby bed, and when he wakes up Evil Xisuma isn't there and all the litter is cleaned
after that Evil Xisuma starts to help Joe with small tasks more often, always pretending it's not actually him
the air isn't as polluted at the Hermitage as it is on the main island and Joe manages to convince Evil Xisuma to take off his helmet and smell the flowers sometimes
it makes him notice that EX is really good looking...
they eat dinner together every day and then Evil Xisuma actually initiated snuggling by the fireplace
Joe is scared he'll hurt him by making a move but starts falling for the man more and more
one day they they're in the garden together and they accidentally make eye contact and just start making out
Joe may or may not be so happy he cries when he realises EX wants him too
everything in the dating world is new and confusing to Evil Xisuma but the one thing he's 100% sure of is how much he cherishes his boyfriend
Joe confronts Xisuma and defends EX, arguing that he should be allowed back into Hermitcraft
turns out Xisuma had known ab Evil Xisuma being with Joe this whole time and in fact had put EX on his island himself in hopes of Joe having a good influence on him
that puts a bit of a distrust between Xisuma and Joe, but the latter is relieved EX can stay nevertheless
Evil Xisuma probably still is little shit from time to time, which Joe completely enables, but he's able to live in the Hermitcraft society in peace now
him and Joe spend a lot of time together just having fun and being happy to have the other by their side
the first time Evil Xisuma recites a poem he's written about Joe to him he impulsively scoops him up and smooches him on his helmet
"Joe please, you'll beslubber my visor!"
yea EX probably learns a lot of big words from his boyfriend and then uses to flex them on Xisuma
