[CITADEL] Dekuunan Ships Join Citadel Fleet
via Word of the Elders MALVUON - After a year’s deliberation on the matter, the Courts of Dekuuna have consented to dispatching a squadron of Dekuunan Navy ships to join the Citadel Defense Fleet. The newly constituted 11th Enforcement Squadron is intended to join the fleet’s anti-piracy operations in the Attican Traverse, under the command of Commodore Voragun. “It was a moment of great pride when the Elders approved the order to send Voragun and her squadron to join the Citadel’s own fleet,” said Admiral Hiwuraango, declaring his contentment to the media present at Malvuon. “Dekuuna is not afraid to shoulder the responsibility of our collective safety, and this is the first act towards affirming that.” The Courts of Dekuuna, in their statement to the public, cited past actions authorized around the repulsion of Ekuna’s ‘little invasion’ in 1900 CE by the nascent quarian Migrant Flotilla as precedent for their outreach. “We have been most serendipitous to have our worlds’ integrity threatened only twice in our long history. The earlier incident of this kind is nearly three centuries old now - a respectable age for one of us.” “When the young Migrant Fleet ejected their malcontents over New Elfaas, the colony was met with a challenge beyond its own powers. These were not pirates desiring our commerce as we had dealt with prior, but aggressors besieging our kin to drive them from their homes and claim them for their own. These courts came under pressure to deliberate with haste, and the decree issued was extraordinary - the Dekuunan navy and marines had been authorized to act in deliberate aggression against those besieging New Elfaas.” “Today such threat is not imminent, but the relaxed order of the galaxy that sheltered our kin from turbulence has dissolved. The Courts of Dekuuna do not know who may threaten us next with an event comparable to what befell Ekuna, but we decree that we must prohibit odds of such coming to pass with our own actions beforehand, and not just react after the fact.” read the official summary of the Courts’ decree.
