I recently bought #emelmathlouthi's album #ensen on a whim - I liked the album cover a lot, and the promo sticker said it was produced by this week's #mcm, #valgeirsigurdsson. What a musician he is! I first heard of him back in 2000, when he collaborated with #bjork on #selmasongs. Björk finds some truly incredible musicians to collaborate with, and Sigurdsson has become one of my favorite electronic artists. He has a way of making computer-programmed beats and synths sound more human than guitars and pianos sometimes, and he always brings the best out in the artists he works with. He's produced and engineered for and with a lot of people I've come to love: #katenash, #nicomuhly, #camille, #danielbjarnason, #feist, #sigurros, #damonalbarn, and #timhecker, to name a few. What is it about #iceland that has so many amazing musicians per capita? The whole island country has fewer people than #sanbernardinocounty! His first solo album #ekvilibrium is lovely, too. Musicians like this dude inspire me so much. Maybe one day to the point where I'll buy a synthesizer and make my own gorgeous #electronica!
