Hi there! If you dont mind me asking, what type of lights did you use for your armor? Im trying to think of a way to feed and connect them without wires showing or 80 switches to turn on/off. I love how yours came out! Thank you!
The lights I used are called el panels (Electroluminescent). There’s various online stores that sell them and you can also search on Amazon and Ebay for them. They are cousins to el tape and el wire.
They come in several colors, such as white, blue/aqua, green, red, yellow. They also come in various shapes and sizes– from strips to bigger rectangles.
Also, important tip is that most el panels can be cut into specific shapes. You just have to avoid the copper wire you can see on the back and also seal the cut edges with scotch tape or nail polish (otherwise you’ll have an open current and get electrocuted)
The caveat is, you will still need various wires and battery packs. I don’t think there’s any way to avoid that. For my costume, I have four battery packs and wires traveling from my hips to my ankles. To not have the wires visible, you can weave them inside the bodysuit through holes.
