I know it's summer but when you need chicken stew you need chicken stew. Especially if it's from El sabroso, a tiny counter in a loading dock in midtown. Probably add a cheese empanada too. You're braving midtown after all.

Tortilla

Almost literally a writhing, scalding overgrown slug. Weighed by the potatoes and mushy from guac, the tortilla soon became almost translucent from the grease that was greatly accelerating the overall degeneration.

Meat

Hidden behind guac, potatoes, and geease.

Ingredients

Potaotes, cheese, pico de gallo, and guac. Obviously the overflowing potatoes were the dominant voice, but the guac was wasn't far behind. The pico and cheese were far behind.

Salsa

Fove different colors, but none could match the natural heat of the burrito itself.

Other

Across the street from MCRD, the small shop is plastered with the technicolor advertisements for their own specials, most featuring a section of rather obscure Mexican beers. The little wall left uncovered was handpainted with cacti and a bleak pig farm tableau. The large tube tv with antennae served only to blast Mexican music channels without visuals. Their logo was a jolly Mexican guitarist with only a bulbous nose and mustache sticking out from his Sombrero.

Pairs with:

Fountain Coke, no ice.

Overall Score

6. Not terrible as a primer for a certain type of burrito, but hopefully boot Marines will venture a little further to experience what SD has to offer.
