I know it's summer but when you need chicken stew you need chicken stew. Especially if it's from El sabroso, a tiny counter in a loading dock in midtown. Probably add a cheese empanada too. You're braving midtown after all.
A little upgrade from my usual mid-day meal
Every Friday we have lunch with the whole office, which is always a nice end of the week treat. For the past three weeks it had always been at Sophie's Cuban. Now, I like the grilled chicken/plantains/yellow rice and beans but after having it that many times I was ready for something new. Last week we went to Hillstone, which was quite a nice change and is another one of the office favorites. It's an upscale steakhouse restaurant with lots of yummy options, like this kale & sashimi salad I had:
