☮ with Crutchie?
Really making me go out of my comfort zone with who I usually write stuff for huh/pos. These are my ideas and they're... kinda? based in canon and kinda based on how I would write his character :]
Friendship
Crutchie is scarily good at making friends
When you look at him and Jack, you would expect Jack to be the one who befriends all the newsies and Crutchie to be the one who sits on the sidelines and is friends by proxy, but it is actually the complete opposite
He is the one who made friends with all the main newsies in Manhattan. (Like, sorry Jack, you're just friends with Crutchie's friends). He has all the connections that allow him and Jack to successfully communicate with other boroughs and it's his name that gets other newsies to stop by Manhattan. After all, they all want to meet him, they've only ever heard good things about how sweet he is but also how smart he is. This is the kid that managed to help take Snyder down a notch and get him looking everywhere BUT the strike. This kid is smart as FUCK and everyone wants to be on his good side
^^ It's easy to do that too! Crutchie is very friendly and loves to bond with other newsies over interests, even if he doesn't share them! He's a friendly face around Manhattan that every newsie knows they can trust
