You slouch over the wet wood railing of the ferry, not far from the water beneath. The mist dots your face with salty dewdrops, but you pay no mind.

The ripples decorate the surface, the seafoam splits where the ferry steers, and the fish school about, just as absent mindedly as you.

You focus just enough, just to calm down for once, and stare at the dim reflection of yourself in the water, lit by only the light of the same stars you hide.

Someone stares back. Their eyes mirror yours. You feel less cold.

this is an experimental piece but i think its funny that all of my favorite work is usually done with pens i never paid for

my black, red, and blue pens were either found on the floor or were given them for free in a hospital, screw professional art supplies
