Elder ► Ryker

Elder thinks the world of Ryker. He knows his life has been hard, and he greatly respects him for the courage he has raising his brother all on his own. He doesn’t understand why Ryker can’t let loose, however. He understand responsibility, but he also thinks it’s important to keep your place in the world. He wants to show Ryker that he can be responsible and still have fun and be himself.

Mike (main!verse) ► Ryker

Mike knows Ryker has feelings for him, and he doesn’t have the heart to tell him that he’d never be with him. Not because he doesn’t enjoy his company or even because he’s not attracted to him. He just can’t handle losing another person he loves, and so he can’t risk falling in love with a mortal again - nor would he ever dare turn him into a vampire and subject him to the endless torment that is his life as a vampire. He knows Ryker might try and argue with him, but Mike knows that the real pain sets in when you see your family grow old without you.

1: What does their bedroom look like?

His bedroom is very well-organized but that’s easy to do when you have minimal decor. He Thinks that keeping a tidy, well-organized room makes him look all put together, which means no one would ask questions.

2: Do they have any daily rituals?

Yes, he’s got a lot of small rituals that are based on his superstitions as an athlete and on his needs for training. Past that, he usually takes a chunk of his day out to fight crime.

7: Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting time

Elder doesn’t really understand the concept of wasting time. With education, gymnastics, and heroics, he doesn’t have a lot of time for it, and when he’s not doing something, he usually feels antsy, which is why he looks for any distraction he can find - which usually means spending time with a friend.

His favorite drink is orange juice.

27: What is their biggest regret?

Elder doesn’t leave room for regrets. If he does, then that means that he’s doing something wrong, and he can’t afford to feel like he’s doing something wrong.

His best friend in his mind is his older sister. His worst enemy in a real sense would be a guy by the name of Mako, a super-powered gang leader.

Spending time with his sisters and experiencing quality time with his friends.

Elder is a very physically affectionate person, who likes to use acts of kindness to express his love for other people.

         “Ya know Hale, I feel kinda bad for saying this... but sometimes you’ve got to hurt people you care about so you can make sure they’re safe.” He said, leaning back slightly. “It can hurt people to see you hurting, but you’ve gotta hurt to make things better.”

{♫}—Gordon rested his head on the back of his chair, staring up at the ceiling with a soft smile on his face. He couldn’t really believe how fond he’d been growing of Hale, he was so sweet and funny and, admittedly, probably the best lay he’s had in a long time. He let out a soft, wistful sigh, gently tapping on the armrest. His smile quickly fell as he realized why he was so happy.

       “Motherfucker, again?” He asked with a groan. “I can’t... no I can’t love him... can I?” He asked himself, his voice going quiet. “It’s not possible,” he said, knowing he was lying to himself. “He... deserves better.”

{☼}—Elder smiled, waving the other goodbye as he shut the door to his apartment. He pressed his back to the door and let out a wistful sigh, sinking the the ground. He let out a soft giggle, his head falling back against the door with a gentle thud.

         “He’s so cute... god I can’t believe he wants to spend time with me.” He said, closing his eyes. “He’s almost as cool as Bearclaw was... God, if you’re out there, please let him like me back?” He asked hopefully, resting a hand over his heart.

7. how does your character feel about sex?

Elder is very open to sexual experimentation, he hasn’t really done much so he’d be interested to find out what he likes, that being said he can come off as prudish for his refusal to talk about sex outside of a relationship.

8. how many friends does your character have?

Elder has a lot of acquaintances, but he’s always felt somewhat distant from everyone else, leaving little chance for any real friends. He has admirers as both Elder Eastman, gymnast extraordinaire and all around good guy, and the Alien Avenger, superhero and role model. But he doesn’t have many friends, and no one he’d call a close friend.

10. what would your character make a scene in public about?

Elder is very obstinate about confronting bullies of any kind, no matter the situation. This has led to outbursts at abusive parents, cops (much to his sister’s chagrin), and a politician or two.

13. what does your character pretend or try to care about?

Elder genuinely can’t grasp why his sister wanted to be a cop, and he knows that his heroics put a lot of strain on her at work, but he can’t find it in himself to feel bad for making her life harder when the only thing he does is go after criminals who’ve made their city a worse place to live.

{☼}—”Well, I’d say that there has to be something like that. Maybe not a strict plan for each of us, but something guiding us along. It’s the only explanation for why certain things happen - even the bad.”

{↨}—”Fate? Destiny? That’d be nice, but no. How could it? If fate were a thing, there’d have to be a specific plan for over seven billion people, and what about animals? Insects? Germs? Do they have destinies? Why would it only be humans who had fates? No, destiny and fate seemed real when I was a kid, but not anymore.”
