So I'm gonna answer this ask for an oc I have not talked about since posting her character sheet for the movie
Kristy.
specifically her video game version. (I will throw in a quick comparison between game Kristy and movie Kristy somewhere)
this will contain spoilers for her backstory and my plot my au for the NRS (still mapping out the midway era) portion of it. (MK 9-X specifically)

ONWARD!
So Kristy's personality can be described as sporadic, closed off, and paranoid. And that is cause of the cult she was raised in.
You see, her parents were each apart of a cult. Her dad was apart of a cult dedicated to a certain goddess, and her mom was apart of the same cult where Johnny got his powers from, (via his backstory in MK 9). Obviously the two cults were at odds with each other, with one viewing the other as a threat. This didn't stop her parents from meeting in secret. And when they did, they found out things that made them question the validity of what their cult taught. So much so, that her mom considered leaving her cult all together.
Kristy's dad however, was less adamant to leave his cult. You see, he had once met and trained under the goddess this cult is dedicated to. (No he did not start. He in fact has no idea who the actual leader of the cult is, he just follows along with the one acting as the leader). So any chance there was to see her again, he'd take it. This led to her mom to go off on her own. But she failed to escape and so Kristy was raised in the God-Killing cult, while her father never knew if his old love and child made it out alive. Obviously, Kristy later on down the line is able to escape, alongside a boy who she would be separated from, and not meet again until much later.
(fun fact; that is the key difference between Kristy's movie backstory and game backstory. Her mom making it out. In the movie, Ginger did. In the game, she did not)
I don't really have an aesthetic for her. (I am still trying to figure what that means. I barely got moodboards down, soooo-)
My favorite thing about her? Aside from Shariah, she is my only other oc who has pink as a main color, and I like that I was able to use a color that I used to hate for so long for characters that are in no way traditionally girly. (I suffered from my egg donor's internalized misogyny, which led me to inherit and distribute some of my own when I was growing up). (I am AFAB, if that context clue helps).
fun facts about her?
I first made MK OCs when I was 13, and Kristy was among the first two I made. However, she was not an actual character, but rather a backstory character. She was the original mom of Xiu Ying. (who started off as the daughter of Kuai Liang and Kristy, and who's original name was Delonia. Who, yes, was my very first oc.)
Sadly, she was a dead mom. Yes I pulled the classic, "dead mom" trope. (which poor Xiu, it's still apart of her backstory)
(in fact, a lot of my ocs have a "dead mom" backstory.... damn...)
another one is when I first redesigned her, I did it so in a way to make her a sort of female version of Kabal, as I was into "shipping the counterparts" type ships. (still a teenager at the time, but an older one)
Now, I am making her look closer to being the female version of another mortal kombat character to signify the parent-child connection between the two.
