She's been losing weight (she was already very thin) and now I can feel her skull at her temples.
Waited almost the entire week for this place I was referred to for an ultra sound to call me. They did and said that the earliest they could get my cat in was mid June... It's mid May right now.
I told them my cat would probably be dead by then. They also stated that regardless of the fact that my cat has already had an x-ray and had been examined by vets at Banfield, they said they would still HAVE to charge a $150 exam fee ON TOP of whatever is needed that *their* vet determines.
I booked the appointment and they said that if it was urgent then I needed to bring her in sooner... So they could instead charge an emergency fee.
Fuck that place. There's no reason to do all that when I literally just need an ultrasound per the current vets. Called this other place I had been hearing about.
Place 2 said that place 1 is weird in that they want to "triage" all the pets and collect on that fee and then charge an emergency fee otherwise. Place 2 offers services I need but there's also a wait. So I opted to book an appointment on Monday and just pay the emergency fee here.
My GoFundMe has managed to raise $170 of the $1500 projected costs to take care of my kitty in her late life.
Hi there, my name is Beki, and the cutie in the picture is my 21 year old E… Rebecca Bryant needs your support for Ancient Eldritch Being (
I've also tried putting more info up on my Cute Custom Ears Instagram but I'm honestly struggling to find how else to advertise and also getting a website together 😭 I know I'll figure it out but I'm feeling burnt.
Thank you so much to those that have spread the word on my elderly kitty and to those who have donated. I'll keep you all posted on what happens on Monday.
I took the fuzzbutts to the vet today. N’s lip was flaring up again, and M hasn’t seen the his regular vet since the beginning of the year, and summers are really hard on him, so we went before they went downhill.
N’s lip was really bad. We are going to have to work on that this month.
Dr. B was very surprised to realize M was due for a rabies shot booster. He hadn’t expected M to really need it as he was already an old cat at 12. (M got his last rabies shot when his previous owner was in hospice so he could visit her. D and her brother who was successfully rehomed were too shy for that, but M is very outgoing and loved to visit her). So he was overdue.
When I was paying his bill the receptionist brought to my attention that his last rabies shot was at age 12 . . , in 2017.
I was telling everyone M was 16.
M is 18. EIGHTTEEN!
My widdle bitty baby is 18! He is old enough to vote!
The vet also noted that he had been diagnosed with diabetes in 2019.
My fuzzy boy is beating the odds. Keep doing it M.
Thank you to everyone who was able to support me and help me during this difficult journey with my elder kitty. I was able to raise enough through the go fund me to be able to afford to schedule an at-home Euthanasia with a company for Friday June 17th at 1 pm. I'll then take her to my Banfield to handle the cremation process. I have enough to afford everything that's coming up, the only thing left is to pay off the Pet CareCredit card, but that'll be monthly payments I can manage.
For now Mouzer isn't in a good way. She'll eat and drink, but it's becoming obvious that she's struggling to move and is in pain from her bloated belly. I'll be reaching out to get her more pain medication to try and last her through the coming week.
Thank you all again for sharing and caring.
Here's a more recent picture of the ancient alien 💕
