“whatever she’s having.” it might be ‘improper’ to lean against the bar but hugo’s concern never extends to protect the sensibilities of the wealthy. he could, if he wanted. he knows how to look the part, how to talk the part, how to act the part but he’d rather eat sand than put that much effort into trying to impress people he doesn’t care about. so, he leans against the bar and glances over at his temporary companion. enigmatic and a story likely worth hearing but hugo also doesn’t care about overly investing himself in the lives of strangers either. still, he runs into her often enough that he can’t help himself to conversation. “long time no see. bride or groom?”

     PIRATES. THEY WERE SUCH a rowdy bunch of peasants. Ozymandias had only dealt with them once in his life, and that had been to expel them from the shores of his country and back into the sea where they belonged. How pleasant Drake was to look at even with the scar upon beautiful features, and yet, she was so immensely uncouth an individual. Barbaric was the best word he could come up with as she pulled him closer. ❝Punk? Is that how you should speak to a king, Pirate? Surely even you should be aware of some form of etiquette, yes?❞ Ah, perhaps that was asking too much from one who stole from others as they sailed about the seven seas. ❝Be more polite and perhaps I will be kind enough to give you an old ring I have lost interest in.❞

Why on earth was Drake bringing out a bottle of rum!? Nix needed to prevent this potential disaster before things got worse! Especially since the minute any of the doctors saw this in the ward, there’s be chaos. “That rumor is true, Drake! I-I never really drank before so I doubt I can handle rum either! And uh.. isn’t it a bad idea to bring alcohol into the medical ward like this? What if Nightingale saw you..?”

Closed Starter for : @eldraquc​ Location : The Reception Room  Time Stamp : Saturday, September 27th, 1924

Etienne is dabbing frantically at his shirt, a large, red stain spreading across the fabric. It was an accident of his own doing. One moment, he was dancing, energetically, glass of red wine in hand, and the next, the drink had been spilled straight down his front. Face as red as the stain, he had excused himself from his partner, stepped to the side of the room, and sourced a napkin - although his attempts were having little effect, serving only to spread the stain even more. 

He sighs, tossing the napkin to one side, and raises his gaze from his on chest to meet the eyes of an onlooker. He smiles, shaking his head and gesturing to the stain. “I seem to be making a bit of mess of things, don’t I?” The laugh that emits from him is self deprecating, and he pulls out a seat, gesturing for them to take it if they wish. 

“I don’t suppose you know how I’m supposed to clean myself off? It would be an awful shame to have to leave the party now. The night is still young, and I haven’t bought any spare clothes.”

                  His lips twitched into a peeved smile at her request—fancy pants, he would do well without a ridiculous nickname such as that. “ Uuuuu——I don’t take requests, madame. Keep to your alcohol and laugh yourself silly. ”

So Drake falls, bloody and exhausted, and Lancelot watches her with all the impassivity of watching a stranger leave a room. If she dies here, then that’s of no effect to him. The tide of battle; if she sticks around or if she fades it’s all the same.

Berserker’s gaze flicks from her back to the battlefield. He’s got no use for those whose luck can run out. “Arr.” Let her fade. He reaches down only to take her pistol from where it’s fallen. That’ll be useful, as magic the colour of clotted blood overruns it. “I’ll move on.” Knight takes queen. There’ll be a check, soon. 

Lancelot’s luck doesn’t run out, at least. He’ll ignore her if that’s all she’s going to do, shrug his shoulders with the sound of shifting metal and keep on the march. Her loss.

"I have seen how you look at her, still confused over your emotions or have you settled with them, hm?"

Oh-? She had observed? Why did she? The executioner’s mind began to wander at the fact that a pirate such as herself would point out the fact that each time his eyes would settle upon her, that something would change. 

The stoic executioner, normally indifferent and closed off of everyone else, would allow the iron walls of his protection simply melt when his gaze would meet her own. It was such a stark change, although he was unaware of it until she had pointed it out just now. 

“... I’m not sure if I understand what you’re asking for. Confused over my emotions...?”
